Another Reason for the Right Wing Nutjobs to Hate Harry Potter

I resemble the right wing nutjob, but I\'ve never been on the Hate Potter bandwagon. My kids both gained an enjoyment of reading from those books. As long as you are able to separate fantasy from reality, I don\'t see it as any worse than Grimm\'s fairy tales.
As to Dumbledoor\'s orientation, I don\'t see that it has any real bearing or play in the stories (but I have not read the latest one) and why JK or the press is making an issue out of it is beyond me other than to create a sensation and sell more books.

Its a blatent publicity stunt aye, but to be honest there are people -fanatical HP fans- who will think this is vital news especially when there arn\'t going to be any more books to clarify obscure points of the universive that they so dearly love.

Maybe she just answered a simple question? Making a charcter gay and not making a fuzz about is a good thing in my book. There\'s too many gay characters where their personality seemed to be focused around their sexuality imo. The press is of course making an issue out of it to get a sensation. Well, it kinda fits based on what she said at the time.
She said that Albus had an unrequited love for Grindelwald, the greatest dark wizard prior to Voldemort. Based on what happens in the books (Albus and Grindelwald are very close as teens but have a falling out, Albus\' reluctance to challenge Grindelwald\'s rise to power, etc) it isn\'t too much of a stretch, I think.
Not quite sure why it set off such a firestorm of applause and cheering, though. I don\'t care one way or another where he put his privates, tbh, or see why it should matter.

Honestly, she probably could have answered this better. Now? Someone is laying in wait to ask the obviously next question: pitcher or catcher?

It sounds like it was an important plot point, which she didn\'t care to spell out explicitly in a book partly intended for children (but which would have been obvious to many adult readers). If it was Dumbledore\'s love for an evil wizard which ultimately allowed You Know Who to come to prominence, I\'d say it\'s important and not just publicity whoring.
