I heard a little bird say, (i.e. if definately wasn\'t me that said this,) that for people who wanna keep playing the system, but aren\'t happy with the prices, most of the publications are available on e mule, and if you wanna get a horde of troops together, well get acouple cheapies off e bay, make a mould and start production, try cost sharing with some other gamers, there\'s some fantastic tutorials on many aspects of moulding at http://www.hirstarts.com/moldmake/moldmaking.html.
As to the legalities, well I guess it\'s not an issue if you don\'t start reselling. (as a matter of interest I understand that alot of the plastics sold on e bay un boxed are reproductions anyway, I\'ve bought them, seem ok to me.)

recasting miniatures has all sorts of copyright issues attached. It is the reproduction not just the distribution that is the issue - I dont think it is right for anyone to suggest this as a viable option and then say that it is legal to do so especially when it isnt.

You\'re probably right, and I\'m just spouting, and on reflection the long term effects on the mini industry would be negative, I don\'t know the details of the legality, I kinda thought that if they weren\'t being distributed then you could make copies for personal use, as in the case of music. Like I said, I really don\'t know.
So remember kids, never ever make copies of miniatures, its bad and you\'ll go to jail...

PP...I assume that was directed at me... I\'ve nearly started.... nah... just need to fine tune a couple of areas, sort the base out and varnish then done...

(yours had better be bloody good :D) lol

My only problem is that my camera\'s playing up.... it\'s developed a green haze at the bottom of pictures :( - (so at least I can blame something when I lose :D)

i will just say that i buy all my own models:D depending on the child some do have the money and will buy a army even if it is v. slowly.i and my friends buy one unit at a time and it may take us a Very long time to get an army.

for example my income a week is £10 a week £2 pocket money £8 paper round with other expencis it come to about 1 unit a month.

When I was I lad my parents never bought me anything hobby related. Not that they disapproved or anything but they just didn\'t get involved at all. I used to work summers from when I was about 13, save pocket money and lunch money (played football instead of eating) until I scraped enough cash to buy what I wanted. Mind you, it did seem a lot cheaper back then... and policemen were older, music was proper music and this was all just fields. :D

Good for you Cadian. Might take you some time for an army but at least once you get it you will love it all the more because you worked your ass off to get it yourself.

The kids today drive me nuts. I get disgusted to see 10 year old girls totting around rhinestone encrusted cellphones as if it was more important then air and snot nosed punks whineing about how their parents suck as they play the PSP mommy bought them because it would make little Johnny happy.

Regardless this thisn\'t about that it\'s about GW... weee. I actually stumbled upon this price hike some months back on the GW site, buried way way deep in their site. But i really don\'t care, i don\'t play the game. The GW stuff i have was bought cheap for no reason then it was just that cheap. Of course it could be that i\'m an RPGer so every mini i need happens to be fantasy... ;)

I had to buy all my own crap too! Exept pocket money didn\'t exist in my day *nostalgia trip* I used to plough the fields and reap the harvests! And in winter I became a child mercinary in the service of eskimos! (translation; I washed dishes and tidyed up, in the winter washing the car was a cold and thankless job)
Yeah, them were the days...

Aye, respect and all that to the working kids who bought their own (I was in the same boat) but a lot of other kids get it all on a plate. Minted they are! Parents with money coming out of their ears buying the affections of their little shits lol
