Another use for my model camera!

We\'ve recently been having a lot of funky weather around my town since I\'ve been home. As of last night we had two funnel clouds skirt the north and south parts of our town. As the sirens went off, I had the quick impulse to grab my Nikon 300 and start snapping some pics! Once the all clear was given, I got in my car and followed the storm at a safe distance. Enjoy!

Quick note, the the photo at the bottom displays the funnel cloud lying horizontally with the anvil cloud. It was pretty impressive to see this first hand, let alone two in such a small area.

Those are some pretty impressive photos. I always love storms and rain (maybe that\'s from living in the desert where we rarely get that).

The eerie thing was that there was no sound. The air was incredibly still. The lightning was spectacular to watch but there wasn\'t any thunder. It was a little creepy.

You know, I think I sort of like the blurry edges with the storm being in focus. (kind of an opposites thing if you get me ??? The action of the storm frozen while the world swirls around...)

Damn guys, those are some awesome pics. You\'d never know how dangerous those clouds are by looking at those spectacular photos - that\'s Windows wallpaper stuff there if I\'ve ever seen it.
