It\'s my first 55mm figure. I got it after seeing some of them on this site. If anyone has some comments....

Hi Dave. I like this guy a lot except the face seems a bit \"weathered\" or something. The colors and shading look good though. I have a hard time voting on these and stuff as I have never done one. I would like to so that I get a feel for the detail involved and things like that. I can\'t justify giving a well-painted 54mm figure a higher score than a fairly well painted 28mm figure without this experience. Some day I suppose. Yours looks good though :)

Thanks ZaPhOd,
I did over do the face! The sculpting on the head sort of called out for it to be weather torn. It was hard for me to try and paint something this big. I\'m that use to highlighting a 25mm.
I\'m pleased with the results, however, I could have done a few things better. I\'m going to have a go at another one soon. Any tips on skin tones for something this size would be welcome.

I think the bigger the figure, the more subtle the you have to be w/ the shading. Go look at yourself in the mirror sometime; most people don\'t have big, dark creases that define their musculature, not even bodybuilders. So, one has to rely evermore on less definitive washes & highlights to show off the detail for it to look right at the larger scale.

Thanks Jim,
Your right! I should have changed my base coat for this scale. I\'ll move away from Vallejo cav brown for the next one.

Geez, with all of the abundant detail here, I should really like to try one of these guys! Definately right about the more subtle shadign though Jim.

Nice.

(As \"Temperance\" also notes in a public comment on the figure), I think the weathering on his face actually makes him look like a zombie or some other fleshy undead creature. He almost looks like a dead body that\'s been submerged for a bit (as seen on TV; I am not a forensic pathologist or mortician!)

Thanks guys. My second figure in this scale is a few days away from posting. I\'ll make sure I don\'t do the living dead thing again. Although, I did watch the Omega man last night:cool:

Hey! They make it sound like he IS undead! Tough call there but you\'re next skin will surely be great. The rest of the figure is awesome. Really cool idea though. Hmm. Undead Inquisitors.
