They reunited a bit back and our doing their world\'s tour in my neck of the woods right now, but man... $41.35 for general admission... i don\'t know. Anyone else already been to a show since they got back together?

Long time Pixies fan

First time I heard them was 12 or 13 years ago and I was hooked instantly. I haven\'t seen them live, but if they come to Sweden on their tour I would probably go see them even if it was expensive.

didn\'t see them this time round; found out too late, but saw a superb gig at the Crystal Palace Bowl in \'91 I think!

Had all their stuff on tape and just invested in CDs......great to listen to again!

Got all their stuff on mp3 now, great painting music I must say :D

Hello,

Yeah, I saw them four times around 1988-1990 in germany, and I saw them this year in june at the Southside Open-Air.
Before the concert I doubted that they will be as good as before, but after the first song I realized that they are as good as in the eighties. They played all their hits in a superb quality, so if you have the chance to see them somewhere it\'s definitely worth some struggle.

Greetings
Michael

Yeah, that was my biggest fear. i knew they wouldn\'t get together souly for the money, but wasn\'t sure if they\'d be as great as before after so long without playing together and i surely didn\'t wanna gamble 40+ bucks on it. Maybe i\'ll have to go on a weekend road trip and see them at one of their other shows.:flip::bouncy::flip:

I was hoping they were supporting the chilli peppers in manchester when I went to see them earlier this year they had supported most places (It was the main reason for going $50 dollar ticket) but I had to put up with Mr James Brown :D

Yes the godfather of soul blew away the chillies
:D:D

Saw them at the V festival last month and they were absolutely fantastic.

Can\'t quite decide if they were better than The Strokes but well worth seeing if you\'ve got the chance...

fan here.

I\'m a huge Pixies fan, but I\'d still never pay more than $30.00 for a concert ticket. Besides the Atlanta show sold out in a day. So I lost out on that choice.

I\'d guess they will sound awesome live. Frank Black and the Catholics never stopped touring. If what I have read is correct, Joey Santiago and David Lovering have recently been touring with the Catholics, so Kim Deal was the only Pixies person who wasn\'t already touring. Plus Black has always been a stickler about being able to reproduce his music on stage. I\'d bet the live show is better than the album.

So is 30 bucks alot for a concert ticket there in the US ? I paid 110$ US for Metallica tickets, front row ofcourse.. might be due to all the gear, having to be flown here.

30 bucks is reasonable

It depends on the band, and it depends on the seat. $110.00 for a front row seat at the Pixies is a steal. I personally wouldn\'t pay it, but it is a good price. I paid about $45.00 for third row tickets for Incubus. It was WAY more than I wanted to pay, but I did it because my wife had already committed to the tickets. If I was offered 3rd or 4th row tickets for the Pixies I\'d consider going over my $30.00 ceiling, but for $100.00 or more, I have to be guaranteed to meet the band. That\'s the only way I can see paying that much. However, I know many people who have paid much more for much less. So I don\'t think you were ripped off.

barkel

ps, you said $110.00 for Metallica. I personally wouldn\'t pay it, but Metallica tickets usually fetch a very high price. That\'s not a bad buy.

Not personally a huge Pixies fan (thought they were cool, just never got heavily into them), but they played here just this last Saturday. Friend who went seemed to have a total blast.

As far as ticket prices, we just spent $40 each the last Friday to see Siouxsie and the Bashees/Creatures play. Unlike what I heard from friends who saw either the Pixies or Ministry and TKK this last weekend, my night out at a concert sucked. Siouxsie spent more time throwing temper tantrums on stage than actually playing music...

Cento: You from Berkeley? They played saturday and sunday nights, then added a 3PM sunday show because the other two sold out practically before \"tickets when on sale.\"

Barkel: They might add a show, especially if it\'s a big venue... keep your eyes peeled and keep your radio station\'s contest in ear shot... might snag some free bees!

I tend to think of the Bay Area as one large \"here\". Probably because I have lived or worked in every part of it at one time... ;) But I currently live in San Francisco near Sutro Park. My friend was at the Saturday night showing. He and the rest of his group met up at Naan and Curry then went up to the show.

On a related (geographical) note, are you part of the Inner Circel painting group here in the Bay Area? If not, want any details? We meet informally on the second sunday of each month over at Scenario in Fremont. Some of the members have apparently started hanging out to paint at End Game\'s new digs in Oakland...

Oh, well... i live WAAAAAAAAAY down in Santa Barbara county (where all the michael crapson court bullarky is going on) so it\'d be a bit of a journey to get to the meetings;)lol but thanks for the invite. Sadly, the distance is what kept me from the concert (the price was a major blow, but the drive was what broke the horse\'s back... would NEVER have made it through work today had i gone):(
