Only thing Ive herd as a nev edition of 40K will be out this fall probably in October. Along with that Im sure we will see a new revamped Marine codex :rolleyes:

Ive herd the same rumors of Spacewolves being the next Marine Chpater to be done.

Hey Adi, you going to GD france in April in Paris?

Rumours I\'ve heard:

New 40k 5th ed sometime this year, orcs and marines, possibly new marine minis, but I\'m betting they will be like the Battle for skull pass dwarfs and goblins.
Plastic gretchin - to go with above.
Planetstrike - like cities of death, but with orbital attacks.
Which is why the plastic drop pod isn\'t out yet, its being released with planetstrike.
New space marine tank in between predator and land raider.
A landspeeder transport for scouts.

Codexes seem to have been changed around a bit, but as far as marines go Space Wolfs are the only one languishing with a 3rd ed codex.

However, Dark eldar are high on the list for a redo and we already know that 40k deamons codex is out this year (not to mention same for warhammer), that already makes for a crowded release schedule. Imperial guard and vanilla marines are also cropping up as being in the pipeline for a redo. I\'m betting vanilla are redone before the Wolfs to coincide with a 5th ed release. Its possible that the wolfs will see a WD update this year, but my money is on them being done as a proper codex in 2009.

Note: all this is rumours and the GW guys are probably laughing their arses off right now :D

Surely that\'s the point of marines???

If they were completely different you\'d only complain that GW were trying to make people throw out all their old minis and buy new ones....

well i hope it is silly little things like:

single dark angels bikes (you can only get a squad of 3 at the moment)

dark angels attack bikes?

plastic terminator commander (similar to chaos one)

plastic Librarian box (with weapon swaps etc like the SM commander)

plastic Chaplain box (as above)

plastic scout bike squad

single (plastic) scout bikes

and just other things like that would be nice.

also i like the sound of some of the new vehicles that are rumoured that people here have said

no one thought the pirhannas would be made plastic either, or the sniper drones. boy how we were fooled that bought FW ones. :rolleyes:

Thankfully I started my Tau army after their release. However, I can\'t see them doing a Manta, as it\'s a little on the large size and more than twice the cost of a Thunderhawk, or 6 times the cost of a FW baneblade. Still, I live in hope. Yhe Barracuda would certainly be doable, and also the Tigershark, but they ain\'t Imperium so the chances are reduced.

this is all entirely off subject, but kinda on subject...

FW shouldn\'t be just about the imperium. just because the books are imperial armour doesn\'t mean other armies don\'t have vehicles also...TAU.

and chaos isnt imperial anymore either as far as i am concerned., nor is (Dark) Eldar.

maybe if they figure FW coudl do more than jsut GW specific games then they would be able to branch out not only in their own plastics, but minis without dependancy ont heir own product lines.

from what i know GW does have one major competitor and was said so by GW and Reaper both.

they are he only ones each other worries about in LGS\'s. Reaper doesn\'t demand a greater share of wall space like GW does, but they are both troubled when a store carries both as the chacnes for getting the Warhammer specific minis for generic use, or to tempt people into playing warhammer is lessened by Reaper\'s presence.

and who wouldn\'t want a plastic vehicle that could carry your whole Tau army?

they could amrket it as both a vehicle AND a carrying case for Tau!

umpteen crisis suits, a few devilfish/hammerhead/sky rayss, tons of fire warriors/caste, and drones....

i feel they are mising a market there that they could capture if done right. lol

Vanilla marines are the 2nd company in the Neapolitan Angels chapter. The first being the Chocolatewing and the 3rd are the Strawberryguard......



Vanilla marines are just straight marines out of Codex Space Marines.

I think more than that, they\'re probably a non-trait chapter. I mean, White Scars are a \"Codex\" chapter but have had their own minis as they do look a little different.

Personally I wouldn\'t class Ultramarines as vanilla as they have access to special characters and tyranid hunter vets. To be vanilla i.e. plain they need to be straight out of the codex list with no doctrines, traits, bells or whistles.
