Any tips for CMON junior?

Hi all, I hope you are well. I am quite new to CMON though not new to painting mini\'s. I used to perceive myself as quite good at the old painting but since posting on here my scores have been between 4-5 for most models. Granted some of them are pretty poor jobs in comparison to the 7+ mini\'s (some are a back-log of my early work) but I was just wondering how I could improve these scores. All criticism and comments will be gratefully received. Also, I am quite new to digital photography so maybe thats what is letting me down. I shall read up on some of the CMON articles......

Ok there are lots of tips for Cmon juniors:-

1: Don\'t wake the Coffin Dodgers. lol
2: Thin Paints work better than thick coats and help you to define the details and highlights with more effect.
3: Read as many articles on here as possible and then try to remember anything from them.
4: Post as many questions as you can, you\'ll get thousands of differing answers but don\'t worry too much. No one is sane around here.
5: Don\'t put too much faith in scores, what matters most is the help and suggestions you\'ll get from the WIP forums.
6: Don\'t be afraid to try to PM a painter of a figure you like. Most of them (us) will respond helpfully.
7: Have fun, This is mostly a hobby and nothing to really get bent out of shape about.
8: NMM versus real mettallics is a subject flogged to death. lol
9: Learn to use the search forums function, most questions have already been answered but there are a lot of threads about SO many subjects.
10 Say goodbye to real life.

11. If your mini isn\'t well-painted, title it \"Left Talon of Roc\" and it will still get voted up to 9 or so by an adoring public.

Thanks very much for the swift replies, especially Dragonsreach. Yeah I have read a lot that thinner coats are better than thick, droopy coats, this is something I will be working on with my next mini (an old - school Eldar Wraithlord AKA a dreadnought in those days!). I guess the bottom line is that if I am pleased with a job that\'s all that matters, although its always nice to get feedback (be it positive or negative) especially if the feedback is from those who are more talented/experienced. One of my aims when joining this site was to improve my painting level and hopefully gain some great insight and techniques. Thanks all!

Any tips for CMON junior?
My no. 1 tip would be: don\'t be afraid to search before you ask a question. Chances are if it\'s related to paint, painting/paint control, seam removal, filling, priming or basing it\'ll have been asked about, and answered, before.
