Anybody know a corner lamp...

Bit of an odd question and I think the answer is "no".

I've got a corner sofa in the living room and have taken to sitting in the deep corner, feet up with a painting station on my lap. Really comfortable position and I can easily see the telly too (well as far as my short-sighted eyes can). Where I'm struggling is that I don't have any decent light currently. Clearly the fact that its in the corner of the room restricts me somewhat... Just wondered if anybody had ever spotted something that would fit into the corner with a base that will go underneath the sofa? Failing that, I'll just have to find a wall light and wire that in.

These are really good:

You can choose between a really bright uplighter or a more focussed 'son' lamp. Base is low enough to go under most sofas, but obviously only half the base will fit under.

Argos sell 'em.

This one would fit under most sofas and keep the base underneath,

And here's a cheap bastard:

I think my brother has actually got the Argos one in his flat. Biggest problem with only half the base fitting under is that I'd have to move the sofa away from the wall in one direction. It is a really nice lamp though.

However the couple of Ikea ones would work perfectly! I'm tempted to see if somebody can pick me up the cheap one and I'll spray it silver (to match the living room) until I can afford a better quality one :D Either that or look into making a new base for the Argos one (as it is a nice lamp) which would allow it to fit under the sofa correctly.

The base on the Argos one is a heavy bastard and the wires enter one side and come up through the two rods...I doubt it would lend itself to modification easily.

You've also got the diameter of the uplighter to consider with regard to proximity to the wall.

I was going to recommend an Ikea model or two so don't sweat it!
