Anyone an expert with webcams?

Hi peeps

I need heeeeeelp!

I bought a logitech quickcam pro for notebooks and it is driving me insane. I installed as per ithe instructions (really!) and plugged in the cam. After being detected I got a failed hardware installation message saying that \' the parameter is incorrect\'. Doesn\'t mention which parameter, where, why or what! I have tried the latest driver, I have installed from a clean boot (like clean boots!) I have even uninstalled all my VID\'s from the registry and my usb controllers themselves and re-installed them, and no such luck. The 2 logitech guys I have spoken to were stumped - and they actually sounded like they had seen a PC before :D .

Does have anyone have any idea on how to resolve this as its sitting round like an expensive piece of plastic staring at me

Thanks

Shaz

With XP it should be simple plug-n-play????

lol

Sorry....you are using XP aren\'t you. If not, a lot of new hardware/software is extremely sensitive to it\'s operating environment. Some crap I downloaded the other day insisted on an XP Service Pack 3 environment!

As if...:D

I thought that everyone knew it was \"plug-n-pray\"? ???

Nothing of value here, my webcam just worked. Of course, it\'s not Logitech. :D
