Holy smokes, that WD article is positively ancient. I had no idea they would keep something like that on the GW site. Consider it downloaded :D

It is not hard to paint horses, but it sometimes is hard gettting them to hold still while you crawl around them with a paintbrush. lol

Send a PM to WiccanPony. She paints horse portraits professionally.

They have a leg at each corner, love apples, attract flies and their waste product works great in the garden around the Roses. :D

As for painting them, the only good one I\'ve done in XX years I did as a Morgan for one of the Coolmini competitions and while I was quite happy with it it\'s not perfect.
One thing to remember is that a lot of horses have a lighter underbelly than back so that to make them look really effective don\'t forget to include that aspect.

use dwarf flesh and black highlighted with dwarf flesh..
just a tiny spot of black in with the dwarf flesh for basecoat..blend into the basic colour of the horse to do muzzles etc...

I\'ve only painted one horse recently:

I\'d recommend stippling your paint as you work up to highlights on the horse\'s coat if you want a nice dappled appearance. Also remember that the muzzle is generally a different shade entirely, often \"black\" or \"fleshy\" depending on the breed, and that in reality most horse\'s hooves aren\'t \"black\" but come in various shades, also depending on the breed.
