Anyone used these or can shed a bit more light on them?

Came across this link on one of the groups I subscribe to and can see they are doing a lot of the OOP Grenadier stuff including the Goblin Giant and a few others.

Anybody used these guys or know a bit more about them I thought it was Ral Partha or somebody that bought out the Grenadier molds?

Mirliton is the company carrying the largest part of the old Grenadier range.

I am not sure how it all shook down, but at one time the company that had bought all the old Grenadier molds was called NEMO.

I have a couple of the War Mammoths and several other, smaller minis. They are of good quality.

It would have been quite a shame for some of the old Grenadier molds to disappear completly and I am glad they are revived. Much of the sculpting holds up amazingly well compared to the new companies.

I agree Supervike the quality of the mini\'s back then was deffinately better I have lost a lot of figures to lead rot but all the old Grenadier stuff is still pristine, I have the War Giant and a lot of the undead stuff. I was also collecting the giants and dragons of the month range they were doing be interesting to see what else is coming back on the shelves I bet a lot of people are kicking themselves at the moment though as the Goblin War Giant was selling on E-bay for anything up to £100.

Grenadier were my favourite company back in the eighties, even more so than GW I have intended to buy another War Giant from these guys as I can\'t bring myself to repaint my original one. I\'m hoping that at sometime they will recast some of the old Colossul Lords range.
I can also recommend the dragons.

I am wanting to pick up that Goblin War Giant, but I think that it is out of my price range. Does anyone know where Mirlton is located? I know its in Europe somewhere. Also how is the exchange rate for euros to dollars?

Drake believe me the Goblin War Giant is a fantastic model although not for the inexperienced there is a lot of parts and pinning will be a must but it is well worth the cash in my opinion (doesn\'t count for much) I think they are in Italy.

For an exchange calculator I use this site http://www.xe.com/ucc/ stick it in your favourites you\'d be supprised how useful it can be

Not all moulds or I should say production rights, as having moulds doesn\'t mean you are allowed to produce from them. Just a number of the fantasy ranges (mostly the wargame range and the dragons). Of other ranges the production rights had been bought back by the original sculptors like Julie Guthrie, Mark Copplestone and Sandra Garrity.
Nemo was well on the way of rereleasing the Grenadier stuff but at a certain moment things went wrong. Global Games Europe did NW Europe production and distribution for them and when I visited they had just pre-released the goblin\'s giant and I saw a prototype cast of the large dragon they had.
Anyway, Mirliton (which is in Italy) has bought their repro rights.

Mirliton is an Italian brands of historical miniatures (15 and 25mm) located near Florence that a couple of years ago has bought all the moulds and the pieces from Nemo that has closed down.
Seems that all those Grenadier molds are cursed

I remember originally ordering my \'War Mammoths\' throught Global Games Europe and had a heck of a time getting them to actually ship them to me.

Back then I was on the Yahoo Painting List, and I am pretty sure it was you that helped me out (you provided me with a contact e-mail for someone at GGE)

Unless there was another Ming Hau that haunted those boards back then...lol

Anyhow, thank you. After I used the contact person, I recieved my little package of goodness rather quickly...

I made mine long before I knew anything about pinning though I did fix it with two part epoxy glue. It is still going strong today. I do not think that pinning would work with the goblins that are hanging off in various places as they are very small and spindly.
I am hoping that more of the old Grenadier stuff will be rereleased, they made some cracking models and there undead were the best I\'ve ever seen to this day especially the skeleton cavalry.
They used to do regiment type boxes where you got a certain number of either cavalry or infantry and I still have two untouched Skeleton Cavalry units as well as an Undead War Mammoth, Undead Captive War Rhino and the Undead Chariot.
I\'ve still got to get a hold of the Dweath Giant again though.

I\'ve got the Undead Captive Carrier as well...Probably one of my oldest minis, so cool.

I also have two of the original War Rhino\'s. I have got to get one of those painted up, as they are great minis.

The Goblin War Giant has been one of my \'holy grail\' miniatures for a long time. I thought I had it bought several times on E-bay before it being sniped away at the last second. Of course, now there are so many miniatures that I \'must buy\' the Giant has slid down on the wish list a bit...

Definately agree there the undead were very good indeed but its difficult to pin down a best model, I liked the necromancer on the skeleton dragon as well as the cavalry and the undead mammoth, rhino and prisoner carrier but also the undead bird things were very good as well yell if you haven\'t seen them and I will dig one out and take a pic of it
To choose a particular cavalry figure it would have to be the undead kettle drummer that is a wicked figure but I also like the skeleton cyclops and skeleton minataur

Yes grenadier was a great company. Ming-Hua has covered the history quite well.


As old as they are some of my personal favorite minis come from them. I still like their Paladin personalities the best. I remember buying 5 for $5. Now you can buy 1 for approx $4
