aww shit man, haven't seen you in aaaaaages. everything ok?

If you mean me... I know, I have been terribly slack. Who knew children were so damn expensive AND time consuming! Basically because I haven't had time for anything I haven't been posting or doing much at all... but I do still log on very regularly to spy on everyone.

Everything is ok aside from cashflow. I think the last mini I got was the summoner from Anders :(

My passion for the hobby is still massive though and I can't wait to see what everyone is doing this year and how everyone is doing at the bar :p

I didnt know you could enter models from previous years??
Nothing stopping you.
I entered one, got a finalist, was suggested to rework a few areas, did so and entered the next year, got a finalist again. (2006 & 2007)
(Inquisitor Eldar ranger by the way).

yeah. i belive jrn enterd the same mini two years running and after a new base and a bit of reworking he got a silver demon for it. i think it was 40k single 2005.
Im reworking my terminator chaplain but havent started doing that yet.

jakob rune nielsen entered single with a custodus marine in 04, added candles and a larger base and got the silver in 05, so yes you can! thing is you cant win with the same mini
twice, as far as i understand.

Confirmed. Entered in 04. Didn't place. Reworked for 05. Placed second.
To be honest - looking back - the model wasn't really finished. Or rather somethnig wasn't right.
So not placing in '04, made me consider what was needed and I had a go getting things fixed. Which worked I guess.

Since then I have a few models that was great but didn't place, so who knows when they will be reworked for a competition...
However, as of now there are no set plans for UKGD this year. I made it to Chicago in Spring though.

But back on topic. It certainly is about time to be getting ready. People working on units should be on their 1st or 32nd model at least by now, whereas single mini painters should be able to take a Summer break before getting back to working hard in August and september. Enjoy!

I do remember getting inspired by those candles back then though! And grats to the 2nd place in crystal brush jrn=). Judging in gd seems incredibly uneven and random, at least the last couple of years, doing your best and being satisfied with your own minis should be the main target, unless you like lotteries! Some progress here by the way, working on the 4th mini for my regiment, painted 42 1.5mm skulls on the backside of the banner, but still not half ready=(

Wow...I never knew you could do that. I've been busting my ass creating new ones every year when I could have reworked the previous years...Just call me dumb ass lol

Well there are a number of people who Re-Cycle their minis through every UK competiton going.
Personally I've only done it a couple of time to get independant opinions, much prefering to try to improve with each new piece.
