(bare with me, some o my keys aren\'t working) Um, sorry to say this but this is wrong. Sure Chrome relects light but mirrors at an angle bend it! Some minis are top rated and look like this but they\'re also wrong. When you try to do SE NMM on a sword, it is not a lat surace so the horizon should not be lat either. It should be at a slight angle. It is also hard to igure out what is what, so the edges should be white, including the slight angle on the surace. Also, I don\'t know i it\'s the camera, but you may hae to work on smoothnes.. Other than that, you\'e got the right idea. Practice, practice, practice! :D

The other thing...Chrome reflects everything...the inside edge should be picking up the actual figure...

 Something that I would recommend...is getting a friend...and a shiny butter knife...go outside...and look how the light plays across the knife, while holding it at different angles......You\'ll notice right off the bat...that some of the CMON painters have thier SENMM wrong...

I know the white is cruddy looking where it starts to get bigger at but that will be better next time.

Should the horizen bend more with the sword (a down and to the side U, V\'ish shape or like that??)

Thxs everyone

I\'m not really sure, but should the inside right side (for the viewer) of the sword reflect sky on the lower part and earth on the upper part because it is hollow?

Sorry to say, but I think you picked out a very difficult piece for your first try at senmm.

Spot on Corvus!

Try to divide the blade into three distinct shapes, all separated by a thin line of white. The outside edge of the sword is great, but the inside upper edge should be almost reversed, Sky at the bottom, earth at the top, and the very bottom corner piece should do the same, but with much more definite earth and sky transitions.

Hope this helps. Wish I could draw it for you but I still haven\'t figured out how to post pictures on the forums. :D

This is really turning into an expert mission for SENMM rather than a first try :flip:

Yes, but I also think he should have tried his first go at NMM on a more simple object: a regular straight sword or some kind of flat surface...

My first try at NMM was with a Space Marine knife, and for my first go with SENMM I took a Space Marine backpack from my bits box.

Thxs panza i will check that out later, and i noticed after i posted it taht my earth was backwards. (light to dark instead of dark to light) So sky at bottom, earth at top. Yeah I do remeber that in Chrispys article, I should have read it again before going on my adventure ;)

for pics just put [img+]***[/img+] take the +\'s out and the *** is where the url goes.

Yeah this sword is kinda hard to do put I just picked something nice and big. Guess i\'ll go grap me one of those long catachan knife sword things and practice.
