Anyone working on characters or scenarios yet?

The shipment isn’t even in the US (as far as I know) and I’m already looking for more stuff to do with it. Figure-wise I was thinking of getting some Hasslefree Miniatures. Few good one-offs that would work well (also a nice Hazmat team). I’m thinking of getting the Mystery Inc. gang though (not the regular ones, the alternate ones with the weapons) as my girls love that show. Also want to get a six-man military team, but not so sure I want a generic one in that they all look the same. I would much rather prefer six individual characters with the same base uniform. Have some old 40K guardsmen that I like, just think they may be a bit two sci-fi even if I swapped out the weapons for more conventional ones.

On the scenario side I’m thinking of making (once the editor is out) a “rescue the annoying kid” scenario. Go into the map, recover the kid and escape the way you came. For a fast and dirty set of rules, the kid uses up an equipment slot and generates two noise counters a round (one for regular sounds a person makes such as breathing and one because it’s gonna be almost impossible to keep the kid quiet) which can’t be nullified by skills, but also allows the holder to access the Loud skill. Perhaps put out some objective counters with a random one being a stuffed bear or blanket or something that will quiet the kid down some.
Another one is some kind of “get the cure” one. The survivors are infected and need to get inside a medical facility to get the (created too late) cure for the infection. I was thinking of having them roll a die on their turn and giving them a 1 in 6 chance of turning. Downside to that is it’s all random and you could end up with everyone turning first time. Not totally sure how to balance it out, perhaps having the survivors roll once as a team and 1 in 6 that one of them turns or draw randomly so they don’t know who exactly is gonna turn. For something like that where only a single survivor turns during the entire scenario, you may need something a little more beefy than a walker or runner.

Most of the others scenarios I have been thinking about are more player vs. player scenarios. Usually a team of survivors and a team of either government agents or marauders (vs. zombies as well of course). Not really sure how to work on balance though. Figure the team of general “bad guys” would probably be generic stated people rather than real characters (no experience gains). Give the military or hazmat team a couple basic skill profiles as well as a standard ranged attack (based on a weapon card). Marauders would use regular character cards skilled up to yellow with a weapon (probably two melee weapons and a ranged, rest get the basic frying pan) and also gain no experience. To balance they would probably start at fewer numbers than the survivors (around 2/3 or so of the heroes numbers). Again, not totally sure how to balance it.
The basic idea was more to create a difference between the survivors and the other team.
Examples of scenarios would be scavenging supplies in neutral territory (first team out with X supplies wins), raiding the base (for food, weapons or “softer” colonists) or generic quarantine (hazmat is trying to contain the infection by wiping out everyone in a small area, more of a “early on” game timeline-wise, survivors need to escape).

Thinking about using other figs I have just lying around -- the ones from
Betrayal at the House on the Hill
Cluedo
Last Night on Earth
Various Heroclix as Cosplayers (IE a fat Batman), police/SWAT
Horrorclix Guardians like Officer 13
Tannhauser
Adventurers/Horus
When Darkness Comes
Curse of the Mummy's Tomb
Heroscape Ninjas/Samurai/Nikita Agents
Hasslefree figs
RAFM USX
Foundry Street Violence
EM-4 SWAT team, mercs, samurai, etc.
Reaper Chronoscope figs

Of course all the other zombie figs also provide possibilities, as do animals and zombie animals.

Anyone else see the 'Zombie Apocalypse' Syfy movie with the zombie tiger?

Basically any modern, western, asian, pulp, and near-future figs.
Ambitious, I know, and with shoddy photoshop/graphic design skills, I hafta rely on the artistic abilities of others.

well i know they mentioned expansions before, so Im hoping they do some undead pets.

Scenario wise, I have been thinking of doing a " get to the chopper" type deal, but have the heroes run up a large office or hospital building to get to it. Pretty much anything from Left 4 Dead video game could work as well.

But one I am really interested in doing is a Heroes last stand, survival game. See how long a group can last against the unwavering undead. I am getting the bonus tiles and miniatures from the kickstarter, so all those undead will be fun!

As I am a member of the Legion I plan on having a day of Zombicide like this. I plan to be at a shop from open to close (roughly 10 hrs) and anyone that stops by can join in or drop out as they please, or stay for all day zombie fun. Whomever survives the longest without dying will get a nice reward.

I did a few on the BoardGame Geek thread here:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/829906/character-creation-time

to include these:

Sally Mae:
P2020008.jpg

Starts with Born Leader: She can convince anyone to do anything.
1: 1 re-roll per turn: She is always lucky.
2: Lucky
2: Destiny
3: Slippery: she got the moves!
3: Medic: She can make you feel better
3: +1 action
Uncle Ernie:
PA100006.jpg

Starts with shotgun
2: + 1 dice roll Combat: growed up in school of hard knocks
2: +1 free search action: Natural scrounge
3: Lock it down: Uncle Ernie is good with locks
3: + 1 zone per move: that limp don't slow him down none
3: Lucky

You might want to hold that thought until more details of the first expansion emerge from a nearby sewer.
What is known is that it appears it will include a mechanic for Survivors turning into Zombies!
(hence all the Kickstarter zombie figures!)

I made one for Kick Ass, using my hasslefree mini, but haven't finalized the skills and stuff yet as I need to play the game and get a feel for how they work:

I watch some anime, and I wanted to make character sheets for some of the characters from some of them. I have more planned, just thought I'd share the ones I have made so far.
View attachment 14879
Princess Hime from Princess Resurrection
Born Leader, +1 Action, (Swordmaster/Destiny), (Medic/+1 to dice roll: Combat/+1 free Combat Action)
View attachment 14878
Mami from Madoka Magica
One Hit Wonder, +1 Action, (+1 to dice roll: Ranged/+1 free Ranged Action), (Sniper/Trick Shot/Born Leader)

One Hit Wonder is a custom skill I made just for Mami. It's a combination of Gunslinger, starting with Tiro Finale (her signature weapon, can be fired only once every three rounds, deals 3 damage, 1-3 range, hits on a 5+, 1 die, makes noise on shot, can't be passed to other people and only she can fire it, will make a card for it when I decide to crop a decent image), she has an extra card in hand spot so that Tiro Finale doesn't take a slot and she can dual wield and have it to hand, and she dies in one hit from a zombie. I may make it so that the zombies prioritize her as a target. Not sure, I need the game in my hands to work out the balance. I had to find a way to fit in as many skills as apply to this character, thought this was one option.

I have more planned, and even have thoughts for a variant rule for the characters from Madoka Magica that would use an aspect from that show.

(And this is my first forum post here, so I have no clue if the images will be large enough to see anything well or how to fix it so they would be)

EDIT: The images were tiny. Fixed them.

But of course. And now I suddenly want to see if I can use my non existent skills to make Charlotte out of clay, paint her, and use her as a replacement Abomination figure.

And the variant I mentioned would start the magical girls at a higher level and possibly give them another skill, at the cost of losing exp each round. And then if they went below 0 either dying or zombifying, though I'd have to tinker with that for balance. (Or turning into a certain something other than a zombie. But then I'd be REALLY having to work hard to balance. And making entirely new skill sets and rules. Ewww.)

I notice you haven't put '+1 action' for the yellow skill.

There may be some kind of balance reason why the rules imply that that's the de-facto yellow skill.

It certainly is for the all the official survivors.

As I said, the skills aren't final, they're all sort of place holders for the time being.

Born Leader doesn't make sense for that character, does it?

I don't know, A kid who has no real power that decides to become a hero and fight evil seems like a pretty good candidate to lead to me. Granted, my exposure to the actual comics is very minimal so I could be wrong :p
Besides, I'd probably only ever take "Tough" as the red action anyway.

Here are two that i have been working on. I don't know the rules, or how to put in the shadows, but i'm learning Photoshop. Any input would be appreciated.
