Here is my latest work. Avatars of war dwarf slayer. I had to convert it slightly because dwarf\'s left eye was deformed, I decided to replace the whole \"eye\" with an eye patch.

I like him alot, but (at least to my eyes) alot of his colours seem to be in the same tonal range and difficult to split up. His Skin, hair and the NMM gold seem to be blending together alot to me.

I love the silver NMM and the subtle red is grand too!

I have to agree with Fizl here (Hi Shaz!). Whilst the model is painted to a high standard, it is very difficult to separate the components of the model due to the colours you have chosen.

His hair is the same colour as the NMM gold (both painted really well though!) and the fur on his boots and to some extent his skin too.

I really love the axe head and your NMM there is superb. Lovely job, but next time, be a little more adventurous with your colours :D

Got to go with the crowd on this one, though I tend to think it may be the photo as much as the paint, as even the green on the base comes off as a little warmer than normal. perhaps you should play with your color curves?

You people need better monitors. lol

The colours are distinct enough to my eyes, the more red hue of the hair, the burnt umber of the shades in the gold.

I like it.

It\'s definitely easy enough to pick out the differences, but it melds into one as a piece, like. It\'s not monochrome, just pretty similar across the mini.

Nice piece though to be fair!

Thanks for comments.

Base color for skin tone: Mixture consisting of 1/2 Cork Brown (vallejo), 1/2 Earth (vallejo). CB is quite similar to Tallarn Flesh (GW).

Highlights: I used a mix of Noesis white (rackham) and small amouth of Wolf grey (vallejo). For first highlight layer/layers you can add some more Cork Brown to the base color mix. So that there is about 2/3 CB and 1/3 Earth.

As for shades I added Scorched brown (GW) to the base color mix and when painting deepest shadows I also added some Dark skintone (vallejo).

When painting face you can use some reddish colors as well. GW\'s Dark flesh is quite good for this job.

Very crisp and nice painting, the conversion although subtle is really nice, gives me the impression the slayer is Gotrek :p

I agree in part with what others say about the colours blending in with each other but not too much.

Great nmm real nice paintjob
