So I was trying some new color combinations and mostly trying to get better reds on this model. I got some really valuable crit\'s on the red cloak in the WIP section, key one I think being that I am not paying enough attention to the mid tone on the red. Agreed 100%. Also highlighting could be a little lighter and following some advice there is some pure bronzed flesh on the model, but not a helluva lot. I got great crit\'s already, but it was easier to finish the model and take the knowledge onto the next one then going back and working this one over again. If I had to repaint this model immediately I would NOT use a red cloak. It looks like ass with all the colors, never mind the paint job.

So, what other areas can I improve on for the next fig? The stuff I learned on my last submission was to use some dark green and blues on the red shading, which I did and I like, so anything else would be greatly appreciated!

Here\'s the votey action....

Pat yourself on the back Scott!

Ever piece is better and better, red is the mother of all bitches to paint. Don\'t beat yourself up. It\'s good stuff!

Go have a beer on me (could I sub a couple of dollars, I\'m short right now lollol).

looking good scott :)
try using more contrast on the face, it will help draw more focus to it.

also, try spending longer on a model, it\'s the next step in pushing your skills mate.

Lovely job. I agree with you that maybe the red doesn\'t go quite as well with the rest of the pallet as it could and you could go higher in the highlights, but overall it is lovely.

This one is finely painted, but doesn\'t have the \'pop\' that some of your other recent ones have.

I think it is the lack of contrast and the color scheme. That\'s not a bad thing, mind you, but I just thought I\'d comment to keep you honest.
