firstly, thank you to everyone for your help on snow bases and fluffy tanks! So here is the plan, i just killed my credit card buying 3000 points of imperial guard (becoming traitors) and 2000 points of chaos marines, in preperation for a new apocalypse army. The theme for the bases is snow covered urban rubble, but because im utterly colour blind, im struggling to get a colour sceme that will tie my marines, guard and dozens of tanks together, pleeeze help!???

Firstly nice one on going apocalyptic! I absolutley LOVE huuuge armies!!!

In respect to colours for the forces, I would personally pick a chaos god/ force first (Slanneshi, nurgle, chaos, Tzeench/ Black leigion, red corsairs ect.) and then this would dictate your colourscheme (to a certain extent anyways, I am also a big fan of the \' its your army paint it whatever colour you want!\'school of thought!) and then I would use that colour on the guard also to help tie the force together.

In respect to your colour blindness, are there any colours that give you more jip than others? (I have a mate who is colourblind and struggles differentiating when painting with reds, greens and sometimes browns). Also if you have a whopping 5000 points to plow through you may want to stick to a scheme in your comfort zone that you know you can do quickly and easily.

Hope this has helped cheif, and remember to keep us posted on progress with lots of pictures!!!

That wouldn\'t be me would it Dave lol

I\'m cursed with colour blindness so I tend to stick with colours I know I can see (having said that I have painted a few squads of Blood Ravens purely by theory and seeing where the paint was still wet  ). My advice is to go for grey. The new GW foundation greys are luuuurvely, it\'ll fit in with your urban bases but won\'t get lost because of the counterpoint of the snow, it\'s very easy to shade and highlight and grey marines just look kickarse. How about doing your Guard in a dark grey, possibly Charradon granite up to Codex and your marines in a lighter, almost pearlescent style. That way they would look like two seperate forces whils still having some unity of appearance?

My problem is with browns and yellows (its a killer in autumn! lol ) the greys sound good, was thinking of adding a bit of red maybe as a spot colour to get a good opposing colour to the snow. Good shout on the gw foundation colours, forgot about them.....
