Sorry all, it's been somewhat hectic at work and 12 hour days have been the norm.

We got hit with a CRYPTOLOCKER Ransomeware outbreak, so it's been somewhat frenetic trying to recover over 50,000 files manually from backups, doing comparison and replacements.

So this is a salutary reminder to get your Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and all security systems updated AND STAY THAT WAY.
Make sure that your Windows Security updates are all in place and ensure that all your critical data has a regular backup. (External Hard Drives are cheap enough!)

Be Careful out there, our outbreak was caused by a lady going to an online dating site, from work FFS!

Dating site? At work? Why not kill two birds with one stone and sleep your way to the top? I... I've said too much haven't I?

Online dating site while you are at work? Isn't something like that a no-no in the workplace?
You'd like to think so.......

Managed to get roughly 85-90% of the data back intact using two great pieces of Free Software.
WinMerge & Fastcopy
I'd recommend them to anyone who needs to maintain backups and file storage, data transfer and file comparisons between storage areas.

Very easy to use and even schedule. Fastcopy can shift day between areas, devices pretty quick. I transferred a Backup data store of 170GB in less than 90 minutes last week, on a normal office network during the working day so that should give you a idea of how quick it can work.
