Apple have done it again!

Another Mac devotee and convert here and I ain\'t ever going back.
Use a G4 at work and have an old eMac at home that has never given me a single minute of trouble.
My ipod has also revolutionised my life (gosh, how sad does that sound?) but I agree, iTunes seems to work better on Macs than PCs... but hey, why should I care ;)

Wow, iTunes does not sound very good...

I have one of those Sony 1 GB players... the software \"SonicStage\" for that is ass as well. Apart from being very slooooooooow, it has the infuriating problem that if you import a compilation CD, there is NO way to keep the tracks together, it disperses them through your library alphabetically by artist! Is this a common \"feature\", or a peculiarity of SonicStage?

Well it seems much like the left handed thread also in GD board here that a significant number of painters are Mac users (since Apple only has about 3% market share and just a quick perusal here is showing me more than that). I guess it\'s true that Mac Users tend to be more creative, or likely more creative people tend to use Macs. Well it\'s about as sound as the Lefty/creative comparison.

@NSA Sounds like SonicStage is really horrid. iTunes is excellent at orginazation of music.

Corporate shills!

You are all being coerced into an idealogical debate between the rich and the richer! Dividing ourselves into cliques and groups when no division is needed.

BOTH computers are just tools for us to drive on the FREEway of information. Don\'t let the brand names and corporate theology pull the wool our eyes.

Revolt!

what i love about Itunes is how it choses to take over your system and become the default player for every media file you have. However the best experiance i have seen the fiance have with her Ipod was the day it chose not to turn off... at all. The damn thing had to keep playing until the battery died and was recharged, then pluged back into the USB cable before it finally shut down.

I have noticed something similar about Quicktime. Even though you specifically choose to NOT have Quicktime as standard player for anything but Quicktime videos it operates as standar player from the browser meaning that if I want to hear a song on a website, for instance, the mp3 file loads in the browser window using Quicktime and I can\'t continue browsing the site while I\'m listening to the song. Of course, I can open the mp3 file in a new tab or window, but then the damn thing lags or even starts sounding distorted when I open up a new page in the original browser tab/window!

It\'s small annoyances like that that makes me loath Apple\'s products. Each of these little quirks might not be much to fret about, but when they add up it\'s infuriating.

I can live with a computer that\'s not perfect, that has a vulnerable OS and sometimes needs to be re-installed and all that, as long as I know I can fix it and that there\'s all sorts of free or cheap programs I can use to minimize the annoyances. What I can\'t stomach is a system that drives me crazy while working just the way it\'s supposed to!!! And yes, I have used a mac and I won\'t do it again!

Sorry for the rant!

@Supervike
I hear you comrade! :D

Macs were the bane of my existence in college! I lost count on the times I lost work and presentations to these hidiously formed devourers of creation!
Not to mention how much of a pain in the ass it was when it shut down with cd\'s jammed in the drive :flame:...I hate macs! HATE HATE HATE macs!
Ipods are pretty pants too imo.I have no desire to buy something expensive with a half-life! And for anyone who owns one...Don\'t (for the love of god!) Try to use the \"wheel\" when it\'s in a shirt pocked...You WILL be stared at and labled a pervert...

yeah, I too am quite anti-mac and I even spend a good deal of my time doing graphic design, which is theoretically one thing macs should be superior at. I have a whole laundry list of issues with it, but I think Margo and Anders pretty well summed it up.

well...

macs are not longer better for graphics design.. at least, not for the stuff I played around with (Maya, Deep Paint 3D).

Now linux based workstations are the norm it appears. hhe

I used a mac long ago..didn\'t care as each system has benefits/downfalls BUT what I like about PCs...all the games I wanted were surely on PC :D

We have a winner.

Screw having a more efficient system if there\'s nothing I can do with it :D

Mac: Don\'t spend enough time on computers to care about the differences. Workplace uses PC\'s, gotta go with that. Expense behind the MAC makes me less than curious about trying.

IPOD: I just don\'t see a reason to carry music everywhere I go. I don\'t get it.

I love my iPod, and my mac. Although I can\'t play any games on it and Messenger is crap. But the iPod is cool. So is iTunes :D

I have to agree on several of the points. I loaded several of the discs of unabridged recordings of the Lord of the Rings and some discs ended up in pop music, some in audio books, some in alternative, and some from when they were in Mordor ended up in country and western ( when we all know clearly that they were in the EAST! ). Stupid I tunes, now if IT7 fixes that, I will gladly recant or unrant.:cussing:

This mean we\'re going to start letting just anyone into the Freak Bar?

Context? What\'s that?

iTunes 7 now has a music connecting thing, so music that was meant to be played together is joined and seamless, or you could just order them by album in the library.
