I would appreciate any feedback on this submission. The ratings are a lot lower than I was expecting and I certianly hope its not because of the color scheme.

I see that the hair blending isn't as soft as it should be, something that is more evident in the photo than in person.

There are a few areas that I could have ensured were a little cleaner in the preparation.

Other than that, just wondering what others are seeing that naturally the painter refuses to accept out of egotism, or because the painter's eyes are privy to the painting history.

Thanks for any comments.

Couple of things;
the background doesn't help, you'd be better off with a simple plain colour.
I don't know if it is the background but the pictures seem to lack contrast on the darker areas.
On your top picture you've cropped out the point of the sword, you could have allowed a slightly larger image size and still not have exceeded the image limits.

Having said these the mini itself is in a very difficult posture to get a good photograph.

Yes, I agree! Background and the complexity of the pose is definately an issue. But for what I can see the green is beautifully done and the base really cool. Straight 9 from me!

seems like a bit low rating.
it looks like really good painting but i can say i dont dig the mini itself (i.e i dont think the mini is that cool). some better pics of this guy would much certanly help out the score tho!

i can see the effort put in this mini. :good:

I like the colors and the painting quite a bit. It's got a 'ethereal' feel to it that makes it work.

I agree about the distracting background, however.
