at long last I got round to taking some pics of him on the new base.

I also touched up his face and beard, redid the sword in NMM, and added some weathering to suit the new base

I too have yet to paint up my LOTR mini\'s. But I only bought the Fellowship box.

I really like this as it perfectly mimics the gritty realism of the films. It\'s nice to see a well painted LoTR miniature that isn\'t all perfectly smooth finishes and clean surfaces. I particularly like the weathering and grime on the coat and his face, which is very Vigoesque. The cracked surface on the base is cool too.

Balin’s Tomb isn’t out yet is it? Not for a few months yet unless I’m very much mistaken.

Well done. The weathering is a nice change from \"cleaner\" looks...not that those are all bad or anything...it\'s just refreshing to see something a little more realistic. Personally, I think the green on the overcoat is coming across as a little on the bright side for me, but that\'s really nitpicky.

Well done. I would agree with Equus the green (particularly on the back view) is a bit bright. I especially like the base! Been and voted.

I think the brightness of the coat could be from the lighting, (need a proper lightbox) it\'s no where near as bright IRL
