You sure that for a fun project you want to paint something with so many details on it? Love the Nurgle Lord but man so many details to be done.

Better have it painted not-so-perfect, than halfway and put in a box.

I am trying to embrace that very mentality maxxx. I have been trying too hard to get things perfect, but need to just finish some minis and move on to more things. Expertise will come over time, not with trying to make one thing perfect.

Yup I'm sure. I need to step back from the bust and rediscover my "looseness" - I'm not looking for something easy, just different. I still need to care about what I'm painting.

You're exactly right MAXXxxx :worship: - it's the exact reason I'm taking a step back (emphasising that I am NOT giving up on the bust!) to do something different before I reach the point of getting "fed up".

I have that very same problem! xP Always trying a compromise between my hapiness and my learning satisfaction

@Archarad that mini looks a bit overdetailed (like most of gw stuff) but it could be very nice.... have fun and let your brushes go! <-- wish i could do it but i am most of the time blocked.

Hi Maenas. :waving:

At my level of painting (7 minis and 1 half-done bust under my belt - only been at this for four months) everything is a learning experience. I enjoy challenging myself and pushing myself to try new things.

Hopefully my brushes will dance happily tonight! Primer is dry and I'm about to get started.

Oh dear, anything I can do to help the block? From the little I know if you you have a good eye and great ideas, so it seems a pity that you help me and I don't help you. Let me know if you need a cheering section!

Skin Games (early days)

I'm having a blast. As per usual (for me anyway) I'm experimenting as I go.

I've been working on the Nurgle Lord's flesh trying to set up a nice diseased/unhealthy looking base for the skin. I'm playing with how the paints interact over each other and it's going pretty well.

Because of the red cap of the bottle I use to hold my minis while painting it looks a bit more saturated than in real life. I've got lots of work still to do, but I'm having a blast!

Still no real plan, but I'll get there.

nice start ArchArad, purple and red washes can help make the flesh look bruised and distressed and mixing green into the flesh tone can give a good dead flesh look

Sounds like you need a travel sized hair dryer. Letting paint dry... Pfft! I have no time for that!!!!

Fortunately inland where I live is relatively dry, so the paint dries pretty quickly. Even so I have been known to get overenthusiastic and not wait those two minutes extra. Trying to be good. :angel:

Mini painting will consume your, digest you and spited out to be consumed again and again till eternity. You'r finished, doomed, there's nothing you can do, once you sell your soul there's no way back!
