I'm free!
I'm back! The screaming and running in fear may now commence....
I haven't painted for a whole month *shock* *horror*, so I'm going to dig out one of my primed practice minis (probably a GW battle wizard) and have a quick paint to get my eye and hand back in. Yay! Yay! Yay!

Hurray for no-more-exams day! Welcome back Arch. You can now officially hang up your ninja snood and crack out the brushes. Looking forward to it.

Hehe. I had quite a lot of fun sneaking about - thank you for the offer of sanctuary in your WIP. To be fair, in real life I'm far too clumsy to be a successful ninja....

Welcome back full time, as you seemed to be around more often than not our not so stealthy ninja ! LOL

You can do it, just think about getting back to the model you want to paint. Plus your creativity needs an outlet after all that ninjaing !

Relax, Arch, take all the time you need to decompress.
My quick tips:
1. A cup of tea.
2. Tv off, soul music on.
3. Dance (or yoga).
4. Pick a mini with lots of single colour coverage (marine, ork, whoever).
5. Pick your base colour and basecoat the heck out of him/her.
6. Have another cup of tea.

You guys really are great for my sanity.
@WGS - Having to switch brain gears from focused studying to just having fun with some paint.
@Teronus - That's a really interesting way of looking at it. I'll try to cut myself some slack.
@bgcdazzler - There is nothing that cannot be made better with tea! Glad I have a person around who shares that sentiment.

Nah just dive in and ruin a couple of minis you can strip and start over. that'll loosen you up Actually, i was thinking of doing a challenge over the holidays. Everybody pick a cheap mini or one they have just been putting off for a long long time and we all paint them using our wrong hands. I bet that would yield hilarious results and give us all a good laugh to start off the new year!

Sounds like superfun... I think I would shortcircuit for sure, sometimes while holding miniatures with my good hand, I have tried to clean the brush swirling it in the water with my left hand and I am pretty incompetent at it... xDNah just dive in and ruin a couple of minis you can strip and start over. that'll loosen you up

I'm already wrong handed (a lefty) so not much more can go wrong.
It could actually be a good exercise for learning colour theory if you do a total opposites mini: including opposite colours on the colour wheel. So purple Orks instead of green, orange marines instead of blue, etc. All painted with the opposite hand. Madness.
