What i also think is very important is to find out what advise "suits" you and what not. For one problem you might get different solution, but one will feel natural to you than the others. keep this one and develop it further how you see fit. This way you will also develop your own style, the thing which make your miniature yours. I never try to copy one artist, but with one I find this good, with another something else and so on. I take what I find best from all the painters I admire (and that are a lot!) and try to mix it to my own style. Sometimes it's also good to think what your style makes it yours and what makes it good. In my previous life as historical painter I was reasonable succesfull, got good comments and did win a couple of awards. So I sat down before I started a new figure and thought what it was why people liked my figures (I never really liked my own figures completely, but that's another point) so I could do this again to make another "popular" figure. Nad now, after all these years of reflections (yes, I'm already THAT old) I still haven't found it. So I just paint and have fun and this makes the circle rounf because that's why i started this hobby. Now, what I realy wanted to say is : take in the good advise and keep true to yourself and everything will turn out ok.
Cheers,
