That's one big delay on that summoning! Zab, I think we're going to have to rework the ritual for future attempts...
Yeah next time try turning the volume down.

ArchArad, try a very gently glazing over the edges with a pale Yellow (Something like VMC Ice Yellow) I've found that it lightens without distorting colours in "Fleshy Tones"

If it's too loud, you're too old! :p

Thanks for the tip Dragonsreach. :) I've only got GW paints but I'm sure I'll find something analogous to work with.

The shoulder plate looks nice. I also like the pinks and greens on the belly...really looks necrotic. If you get that quality across the rest of the mini you will have a great end product...if it is possible to say that about Nurgle minis! Lol :)

Thank you KruleBear. :) Something clicked with this guy and while I'm not expecting him to be outstanding I think I'm managing to accomplish more with my painting.

The skin is very rotten looking and like the new armour colour over the blue looks a lot more festering

Hi wgs. :) Yeah, I also prefer the newer colour direction. It's been fun going into this workout a "plan" because I've been able to adapt as I go along and see how he's looking. It's an approach that seems to suit me.

GW Shades

I've been experimenting with GW's shades on my Nurgle Lord as I've been going along.

Instead of just washing the whole area I've been playing with toning them down with Lahmian Medium and also placing them specifically where I want them. And it turns out that they're quite a fun way for me to subtly modify colours for an effect I have in mind.

Also been using my paints more as controlled glazes and combining the two seems to work for me.

It may take a while, but I learn!

Too much of a jump. It comes very suddenly. Try to carefully glaze the transition, that should do the trick - but careful not to ruin the nice mid-surface!

For us painters "I'll give it a wash tonight" has a full different meaning xD xD
Loled at the kitten osmozzis joke. ^^

I really like the solution you have found for the armour plates, they suit the mini perfectly.
Your levelling up at giant paces, and that news about your mate starting to paint is super! You both will probably have good times sharing the hobby.

Hey Maenas. :D

Thanks, I'm glad other people like it as much as I do. Lets me know I'm on the right track.

Yeah - it's awesome that he's started putting paint to mini. He and our friend YetiSA are the reason I got into mini painting. They've both backed a few KickStarters and play skirmish games on occasion. My personal collection of minis has a long way to go before I catch up with him. But more of mine are painted! :D

Coming together

Another productive painting session. I adjusted the highlights on his armour as suggested and it looks much better. Thank you guys!

I also painted the skulls on his belt (the cords holding them on haven't been done yet). Then I made an attempt at his rags - I went with a green blue to have a complementary colour to the orange in his armour and tie in with the green in his skin. Not sure if what I've done really works. Let me know what you think.

Pictures are a bit desaturated, but it's 2:20am and I don't feel like redoing them. Decided to give you guys more of a 360 degree look at him.
