i mi tried flow medium and retarder and couldn't get on with it, I just use good old fashion water x

My man and I are back home for Christmas for a few days. And a parcel was waiting for me at the post office from Dragonsreach when we returned.
I am completely blown away by Mike's kindness and generosity! He sent me a selection of miniatures and some extra modeling bits and pieces.
Mike declared that he wanted to expose me to more than just GW miniatures. And he has definitely succeeded in that goal! Hopefully one day my painting skill will be up to these awesome models. But I'm likely to abuse a few of them with my current paint splattering because they are too awesome not to.
Mike, you are a gentleman and a good friend. Thank you so much!

YYeah Mikes awesome...he's a fantastik human being.can not wait to see newest pics of what yer working on.again going back to what mixes for what kind of consistency you'll be applying is all in that article of reapers "the art of hthinning paint" it gives the recipes and additives you should be using for base colors,washes,highlights (layering) and even tells you how to use the brush stroke direction for each.it will further go on with two of reapers master painters and so e of the best in the world's "jennifer haley,and reaper master series paints creator -ann foerester,who has a chemistry degree and shows her thoughts of what she was looking for in a paint and created the reaper MSP line.which.I use and baily uses.check it out its how I started to know a base line for what to add and how thinned it should be for what I'm using the paint for!!! Road Trip (part 2)
I'm snatching the chance to post a quick update.
The last few days have been busy visiting family and friends and tomorrow is my mum's birthday. So no painting since we got home. On Monday my man and I are off to visit his folks (a mere 16 hour road trip ) for two weeks. And I am definitely taking minis with me!
I've never travelled long distance with minis before so I've decided to leave the Avatar of Imagination at home in case of calamity. I'll pick up where I left off when we get back.
The primed minis I'm taking with me are:
1) Dozer and Smigg
2) Ogre Kingdoms Female Maneater
3) Goreshade the Bastard
They all have different elements I want to work on improving in my painting - and they look like fun!
I hope that you all had a great Christmas with your loved ones!

@Khonner - We can definitely give a paint-a-long a try if you'd like. I just can't guarantee when I'll start him or how regular my painting sessions will be.
@SaintToad - Hehe. She really looks like so much fun and I had to get her the moment I spotted her! She's a GW finecast and I had to do a fair amount of liquid green stuff prep work on her, but it was worth it.
@Gino2dope - Hey my friend, welcome back. I decided to leave the beard off the ogress because her face is actually a pretty cool sculpt without it. Dozer and Smigg are a great kit that goes together well and has such character.

YYeppers the articles are only a blueprint ,I've always mentioned that as well,you have to experiment and see what your paints,brushes and additives will show the bestvwith..it takes a lot of trial/error but that's the fun.keep a log book and track your w Quatro s and recipes.but at even at a minimalist aid,it still gives a good starting point that you ca. Branch off of .myself I bought the flow improver W & N and a huge bottle of a W & N paint retardent and whipped up a huge needle tipped squeezer bottle of the jennifer haleys recipe and another one of ann foerester.they still serve me today.just timed the ratios by 10 .works really well you can get plastic bottle and pin tipped dropper heads at any craft stores. and
