Ok, now he\'s done with base and all. I was thinking of doing glowing eyes, but I felt it wouold be too much \"Cyril\" ;).

I had a lot of fun painting him though! The base was a lot of fun too, but I think I have to buy some of that scenery snow...

I don\'t like Space Marines so I only voted you a 9. ;)

All joking aside I\'m not a fan of the SPAM in a CAN but this is a great version of one of the most mundane figures. You have actually managed to give it a great deal of character. Well done.:D

Great looking piece, and I think the base the way you have it fits the model perfectly. The snow looks old, muddy, icey, not fresh and new fallen (as the modeling snow often looks), which to me makes it feel colder, dirtier, and matching how you have your marine painted, enhancing the overall feel.

I gave you a 9 I liked the jewel on his leg and some of the other detail work but felt there was a lot of detail missing still.
The eyes could have done with some more work maybe bring them up to the standard of the leg jewel but also details to the shoulder pads were missing.

Thanks guys!

@DR Thanks once again fro the pin vice, I use it all the time and also on this very mini :D

@ War Griffon. Well, maybe I could have done something more on the shoulder pads, but I like those big clean areas. You have a point on the eyes though, they could use some more highlights.

that\'s a big 9 for me, both for the technical quality and the originality of the piece!
There are some minor flaws, but overall speaking it\'s almost perfect and I love its rusty look

great piece, i think you should have a nomineè for the \"most improved painter\" award ;-)

i have to say, i think the eyes are fine. the scroll on the shoulder pad could do with some writing on it though. i\'m glad you sorted the base out - not too much snow. beautiful

dont invest!

if you are going to continue to do these industrial bases with snow i see no need to buy that snow junk. the glue and sand gives it a much dirtier look that works very well!
EDIT: do you mind sharing with us how you did the snow...i tried the glue and sand thing once i saw the mini....didnt turn out so nicely:(
did you use fine sand? although snow schemes are not my best(well not much is my best) i would love to know how to do this industrialized snow!:D

if you want great snow, use baking soda mixed with white glue and a little blue ink. it mixes into a paste, and just slop it on wherever you want snow (plus the baking soda has a little sparkle to it like real snow does)

great marine by the way, i love the rust.
