Are we romantic?

Lizcam said ¡°One thing I\'ve noticed about the men on this site is that they are all romantics (well mostly. But I have my suspicions about those of you who pretend not to be). I like that about you guys.:D¡±

What is the most romantic thing you have done for someone you love?

Yeah.. maybe it\'s true! :) Fantasy books are often pretty romantic and based on romantic ideals as well.

I don\'t think I have done something OTT though. :) I\'ve said some sappy things though that err.... might not translate well too text...

I am starting to like musicals, and have taken my wife to several.

I\'m not sure if that makes me romantic, or light in the loafers.

lol you guys make me laugh!

last weekend I left my wallet at work, and had to have her drive two hours to come get me when I ran out of petrol and couldn\'t buy any more. That was pretty romantic.

I dunno, I\'m kind and respectful.. and considerate, and passionate... but apparently not romantic, cauz I don\'t get her flowers...

I seen romance, In chick flicks, I think it\'s overrated... These guys are usually romantic between to episodes of acting like a pr*ck, this probably put the romance thing in relief

I think watching these chick flicks with her, which I would never do otherwise, satisfy her need for romance in some way.

I\'m not romantic at all - and my wife has told me so. I\'m too logical to be a romantic, and that\'s okay with her she says. She prefers my honest love rather than fancy and (usually) expensive gestures.

And yes, I\'m bragging about how cool my wife is. :D

Defo not romantic. Most romantic gestures come from what I call cheesy gestures, and I just CAN\'T bring myself to do that.

When I proposed to my wife it was at 3 a.m. on a Wednesday of absolutely no signifigance. She said she wanted it to be a suprise (even though she picked out the ring?) so I figured I may as well do it at a time when she REALLY would be suprised.

So she said yes, then we went back to bed.

Ok guys, romance is a view of life that leads to simple quiet actions that prove your love. Never come right out and ASK a man what he\'s done that\'s romantic. Especially in public. All men feel the need to joke about it. But I bet each and every one of you have watched your woman sleep in bed with a smile on her face and went and did 1 small thing just to watch her smile like that AT YOU. admit it. I know you all have. That\'s romance.

Whenever I watch my woman sleep with a smile on her face I tend to have to prod her to get her to stop snoring...

hmm.. I don\'t think romantic necessarily mean cheesy. It doesn\'t mean buying things either! The most romantic line in a movie is still \"You want me to become a better man\" from as good as it gets.

You show it in your own way..

Erm...So, you can\'t tell of one thing that you did that is romantic.

I find that hard to believe. Or maybe you just aren\'t romantic.

No wonder all of my wife\'s friends and co-workers think I am a catch. lol

Well I am defo not romantic. I do all sorts of things to put a smile on my wife\'s face but not traditional romance. It\'s what works for us. It\'s not a happy coincidence that I wound up with a woman who thinks flowers are a waste of time. My wife thinks it\'s funny when I fart on her, and I laugh my ass off when she does it to me back. That\'s our Radom romance I guess. Anything for a cheap laugh.

The other night the house got real quiet and there was no noise. With two young kids it\'s a rare beast indeed when we don\'t have crying kids, Wall-E blaring in the background, the phone ringing, or something. The wife turns to me and says \"Is there anything you want to talk about?\". I thought it over and I said \"I think I could kill you with my bare hands in 30 seconds.\" She said \"I think I can outrun you and make it to a door, and that would take you at least 2 minutes to break down.\". Then I went back to painting my fig and she started reading a book.

Romance can be different thnigs to different people. My only advice in this dept. is..... Don\'t Fake it! The worst thing in the world is making gestures that are not genuine and not an accurate example of yourself and how you feel.

I couldn\'t think of any, so I asked the Mrs.

My most romatic trait is telling her what she got for Christmas, but not telling her. She is such a control freak that she has to know. So if I don\'t tell her, she\'ll bug the kids.

When they were little, I\'d tell the kids what to tell Mommy when she asks what they got her for Christmas.

One year she got \"wooden blocks\" or as it came from my then little one \"wooded blocks\". Peg got a set of custom turned pen & pencil - in a wooden case. Bout the size of a checkbook and rattled nicely. Drove her nuts.

Another year she got a \"box of rocks\". Those turned out to be her Mom\'s ring (kids are ruby and diamond - she planned well). We put it in a much larger box so she couldn\'t guess what it was.

Good to hear this perspective from a woman. It\'s this little stuff that I LOVE to do........a lot. Little surprises - the surprise part is cool - and ever once in a while come thru with a real hum-dinger. I find I have to take a lot of ideas and such and simply put them in the \'queue\' so as to not overwhelm her.
