Armour Lining/Edginig/Detail

Whats up forum goers.

At the moment im painting a Valkryie D\'Alahan (i think thats how it goes) by Rackham.

Im painting the lininng on like the outsided of the armour. And to be honest its hard as poop. Its just going extremely slow and its a bit hard trying to avoid getting paint on already painted parts.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Ahhh yes. I didn\'t know they had term for it.

Water the paint down - ink helps to retain the depth of colour - then \'feed\' the thinned paint into the recesses and let capillary action work it\'s magic.

If you get any paint on areas you don\'t want it, just wipe it off with a clean, damp brush. I have been known to lick a mini clean in extreme situations....

One thing I\'m going to try, this will sound crazy, is a Japanese writing brush. The \'hair\' end of the brush is REALLY big (1/4 inch in diameter) but the other end goes to a VERY fine point. I use one for doing cartooning and it can do a 1/64th inch line up to a 1/4 inch line, all in the same line depending on the pressuer. An extra plus is having such a large amount of hair behind such a small tip is that it can hold alot of paint. I got one a the local art store for 50 cents. Shop around, the prices can vary wildly. The cheap ones can work very well.

Yeah man i\'ve got two of them. But mine don\'t have or have lost the point. Or atleat a point fine enough for this. Haha. Im mainly keeping them because they\'re cool and have a sweet box. I\'ll see if i can\'t point them out again.

My old man bought me some back from China last year. Apparently they\'re made from different animal hair. There\'s definitely some wolf hair ones, not sure what the rest are though...

Probably dog or cat

Wonderfully well crafted objects though.

Here in the States I have seen and presently use one that have synthetic hair and it works WONDERFULLY. AND the tip dosnt curl. Been using the same one for about 15 years and it\'s still good as new.
