OK, arrived this morning.
64 pages, full colour. Fortunately NOT an advert for Andrea - includes Andrea, Latorre, GW, Illyad, Rackham, Infinity and a couple of scratchbuilds; as specific painting issues, eg, zenithal lighting, directional lighting (Gandalf from David Rogriguez), freehand banner, terrain, metallics, NMM etc.
All the contributors are Golden Demon winners......so a good pedigree.
The pictures are in places small, but not all and there are some good enlargements. Some fancy computer generated images of the figures in fantasy settings that waste pages.
There is useful stuff in here, definately, but it is a little expensive.
So it contains the right stuff, but probably too much style and not quite enough substance.
BUT! It is well structured. It knows what it wants to do more than, say, the Darkson Design book (but less \"content\"). It\'s more inspiring than 10 years worth of GW painting articles and/or books. And it smells.....that \"hot off the press\" smell
it is quite expensive for what it is, but there aren\'t many fantasy painting books out there...........
personally, I like it.
