Thank you for writing up this article. Only thing I would add is that since CMoN has a width limit, I would recommend stacking multiple views vertically instead of horizontally, so CMoN doesn't shrink your pictures to thumbnail size. Glad to have this article on here so I can point people to it.

Good article, screen shots are nice to see too.

TIP: In Photoshop, since the restriction in 600px WIDE, make the photos 600px wide, but 1800px TALL. Add image then crop out whitespace as mentioned. Save the JPG as a JPG file, with a lower quality, like 5. Check the file size to see if the saved file is around 100K. If not, lower the quality and save again. Don't go below 3!

Keep in mind that if you can't afford Photoshop and don't want to steal it there is an Open Source program called GIMP that will do anything that most mini painters would want Photoshop to do. http://www.gimp.org

People used to Photoshop will find GIMP aggrivating though, because it's basic user interface is totally unique. Once I got used to it I liked it much better though.
