Those look great. I\'d make only a small mod to them to meet current standards.

True original Jersey barrier has not been used in a while.

Currently we use \"J\" rail or \"K\" rail. \"J\" is for roadway. It has a J shaped connecter on each end. The next rail slides down into the J of the previous rail. Quick and easy.

The newest \"K\" rail uses the same old cable loops at each end like the old Jersey barrier, but has bolt pockets along the lower sides to allow it to be bolted to a bridge deck.

If you\'d like, I can send you .pdf files of the current standards.

Damn those look familier -

Missing the loops on top and the crappy local production concrete, but yeah, they would work for modern barriers on most of the bases I was on in Iraq.

Thanks guys for the input.

@Airhead..sure Id love any info you can provide.

@Stealcult.. Yeah I figured the modeler could add the loops with a bit of wire and a small drill. Casting the loops would be a nightmare. I have someone over there stationed getting me the info Ill need to do the \"Texas\" T walls used around all the base camps.

They are cast and ready for sale!

Funny story about the Texas walls -

They were installing them in the camp I was based in after working hours by lifting them over the housing units - on of the residents threw a major fit, called out safety and put a stop to it -

The guy from force protection pops off and says \"I\'ve never seen one of these break while we\'re lifting it, whats the issue its safe\" - at which point the barrier that they were having to lower back to the ground shattered at the lift points and dropped to the ground much to the shock and embarassment of the force protection guy.

Its funny that you say this as the guy who sent me the pics say they crumble pretty fast..I dont think Ive seen one on a picture that didnt have a major corner nocked off or that they didnt look like they were crunbling right in front of your eyes. Someones making a killing casting cheap concrete..

And the bottom cut-outs are important. Dirt builds up and seals them otherwise - next rain = instant pond dam.

Thanks.. Ill see how these do and if I do others maybe Ill add the cutouts. I pour them from the bottom in a one piece mold so the cut outs would only be symbolic.. honestly this resin is so nice that it carves easy..you could add cut outs in a jiffy!

Its actually two things - they\'re using just local sand in the mix (not really good stuff just the stuff they scrape up in the desert) and round rock agrigate. Not the best concrete formula around and when you couple it with the heat drawing the moisture out too quickly you get shyte concrete.
