Mass produced miniatures? Please explain.

i.e. stuff that is cast and unpainted. There are a number of auctions that show a painted example but actually link to the mass produced item. The ebay linked front page is not meant to be a catalog for this purpose, but primarily for actual auctions of painted examples or unique sculpts.
