Wow... just looked through their entire catalog and it looks like old GW sculpts and yet seeing as how they have greens of some up that means they are makeing new casts of what looks like blatent ripps from GW. Not to mention the studio paint jobs are horrible and make the figures look possably more crappy. I do belive GW will have their arses when they discover them.

besides, most of these are different enough. i mean, ok, they\'re naked chicks with knives dancing around, but these ones have vines.

So I guess you could say GW ripped off Greek Mythology when they made their concept of Dryads huh?

Those look nothing like any Dryad GW has ever produced. They do, however, look just like the Dryads that myself and and Tim Wilson converted for our armies. Maybe we should sue them :flip:

Anyway, there\'s a lot of stuff in there that looks like a GW clone, but not all of it. Even if GW doesn\'t shut them down, why would anyone want to buy the sub-par quality GW style figs?

Well I suppose kids could buy them if they are cheaper to replace more expensive GW figures... are they cheaper though?

I like your Dryads Dan :D

No fair....there are plenty of good looking sculpts that you have not shown.

Sure these are very GW-esque, but look at some of the others....

Some of that stuff is pretty decent!

EDIT...I see Funnymouth beat me to that....

Yeah, the original sculpts are quite nice. The fact that they have the talent to make some great original sculpts really makes the gw knockoffs mysterious... why risk copying someone else\'s stuff when you can make such cool stuff yourself?!?

My theory is maybe the sculptor taught himself the craft, borrowing heavily from GW....then he thought...what the heck, might as well try and sell em!

Mars Ultor have been around for quite some time without GW shutting them down. And, frankly, the stuff that IS similar to GW stuff is pretty generic fantasy imagery anyway. GW didn\'t invent demons, trolls, elves, dryads etc. They have incorporated many traditional fantasy and mythology elements into their miniature lines and they can\'t stop other companies from doing the same, even if their aim is to \"steal\" customers (which may or may not be the case here...).

If my memory serves correctly, those dryads from Mars Ultor came out back when GW was still making those nasty, stubby, male \"dryads\" for wood elves. Maybe Mars Ultor should sue GW.. ;)

The sheer amount of thoughtless negativity in this thread astounds me!

Looks like the ones similar to GW figures could be used in warhammer. Nothing wrong with that, plenty of companies make proxy figures. These dryads are more interesting anyways.

Now linking to the troll and complaining about it while ignoring figures like this below is just GW fanboy\'ism. They\'re even on the same catalog page.

Hehe, that\'s such a cool looking mini! It\'s kind of cute in a nasty way.

It\'s funny because I had a look through the Mars Ultor catalogue thye other day and GW didn\'t once enter my mind. I think their miniatures are by and large cool and interesting.
