Really interesting. Lots to digest here but basic enough that anyone with some sort of color and light reflection knowledge should be able to understand
This article was great, I've only been painting for about 9 months and didn't really have a good understanding of NMM (I use metallics). I'm now ready to give NMM a try!
Good basic theory, but the wandering writing style doesn't lend itself to clarity very well. I still think if Leonardo had had metallics, he'd have used them. NMM makes nice photographs, but I don't really care for the look nyself.
Thank you for these articles. They are excellent and I shall endeavour to use them in my upcoming projects. Don't worry, if they turn out to be complete abominations I won't mention that I was using your tactics.
It's just great some people have time to write these articles. After three full years of not even being in the same room with my beloved brushes and paints, I'm starting to get back to this thing - and this kind of stuff if just what I need. Thank you.
I thought it was a very helpful start, and something that I had not thought of before comming to CMoN. One not that I have found for rust is that the GW chestnut wash works excellent as rust with very little work.
