Article: New Tau, Halo2 clones?

I quite like the vespids except for the heads. Maybe a head swap with something else would make them better?

First off, what do you mean looks like the prophets from Halo 2? That middle guy might as well still be flying around shooting lazers at me while I fight off his constantly spawning bodyguard!

Also, a lot of people aren\'t fond of the vespids. Though, the main complaint I\'ve heard about them is that they dont look good...Since when does every alien in the futuristic universe have to be pretty? They even plan on making the orks look better! Don\'t! I like my aliens ugly and my Space Marines with sticks up their butts!

One of the options I\'ve heard for substituting vespid models is to make a \"Jump pack tau human auxilary\" unit. Which seeing the concepts for this substitute on the DakkaDakka forums, doesn\'t look half bad.

However, I can see all the new models as fairly mangafied (Which is what Tau were based/designed upon!) including the vespids. Hey, there\'s always some butt ugly guy or alien out there.

I like the idea of the sniper. He doesn\'t shoot the gun he just controls the drones that do (or at lest that what looks like to me.) As for the look of the Tau, I thought that GW was going for the Manga look not fot the kids but for the Japanice market...

Nah, they are doing it to bring in a new style other than the grim gothic of everything else in the 40k universe. I\'m starting to wonder why the imperium paints every building in dull shades of grey and refuses to cover up the exoskeletons of their hive spires. Something bright is welcome in this grim future. Heck, maybe that\'s why so many of the imperial citizens are defecting! lol

Oh...and also because there\'s a call to get in the age groups that grew up with Gundam and Transformers instead of Batman and graphic novels.

And the Vespid don\'t bother me. I think they look great actually.
