Still reading the skin Tute but have to say you need a pic of a finished Mr. Columbo for your colour Tute. Everything you say sounds good, but without a pic I have no \'proof\' it works together on a mini.

Back to reading the skin one....

Nice Tute, would prefer to have a pic of the finished mini at the end, even though the skin is done. I would have to pick up some paints to try out your exact scheme. I never considered using my Sanguine base as a flash shader.

Just wondering: most people that use the layering technique start with a darker basecoat and work their way up, skipping the shading step. Do you find your method produces better results?

Since I swapped from Basecoat -> Ink Wash -> Drybrush, to layering, I haven\'t done a shading step, maybe I need to add that back into my repetoir.

Mr Columbo ain\'t finished yet, and neither is Libby, but once iv gotten over my motivational block they will be getting finished and put up.

The sanguine base was used to create a feeling of a hot environment, (i think I wrote a little about that). It really was just an \'experiment\' but it worked.

Im not saying base coating in a midtone then highlighting and shading on top of that is the better thing to do. But it works better for me and allows me to go deeper if need be.
Its horses for courses really, try it out, and see if it works for you :)
