either lengthen the torso or shorten her legs. You want to aim for about 7 1/3 heads overall height, the mid-point should be just below the naval and slightly above the pubis

@angus147258 I can\'t belive I\'m about to say this but... her breasts are too big and they\'re too high. One recomendation I have is to add them after you have the approx shoulder width and head size. At that point it\'s easier to approximate the breast size. As for the hour shape it looks good.

I just posted this in the painting WIP thread then noticed this thread is a much better place for it, so sorry if this gives you a sense of deja vu!

I have been slowly making moves towards finishing off my base sculpt. I\'m pretty happy with the work so far.

I have have a very quick bit of work done in Photoshop just to try and get a better idea how some more detailed stuff would look on it. The second torch that isn\'t in the picture will be ditched on the floor through the doorway as if he has been using it to light his way. Cheers for the light idea Dark Seraphim, now I\'ve got to do some multiple OSL on the model. Ouch!

Although feedback and ideas are welcome this project may have to be put on hold for a bit now. I am starting my Golden Demon entry and I think the sculpting alone is going to take me a few months as it is a large scale mini and the most adventurous thing I\'ve ever attempted by a long way.

Is it bad form to post WIPs of GD entries? On the one hand I could use the help, but at the same time the big reveal on the day is an appealing idea too.

the sculpting work you guys do blows me away.

i can only do simple things like turning a glove or hand into a gauntlet or doing crapy flags.

@mick22, one thing i have found to stop the green stuff curing as quick when it is hot, is to put a freeze block thingy in a bag and then put a tile on top. the mixed green stuff lasts a good while longer on the tile, before becoming to difficult to work with.

great idea, think I\'ll give it a go, might even stick the tile in the freezer for a bit too :cool:

Looks good. I like the holder idea.

I would though advise you to use a harder putty for stonework.
I like milliput the best for this sort of stuff as its keeps an edge like natural stone. Greenstuff for me tends to be too sofy edged.

A & B from Sylmasta is what I use for hard surfaces
it sets almost rock hard, and you can mix it with GS to give a mix of properties depending on the ratios you mix them in

dunno why I didn\'t think of this earlier do\'oh!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have done a bit more but still need to take a decent WIP shot.

@Penguin: Thanks for yor comments, the look of the spear is intentional in terms of its thickness, i had in my head an idea of false fragility. There is still work to be done on it tbh, i will be adding ribbons and all sorts of things to try to hide the main body of the spear some inspiration i have taken from Mark Gibbon\'s early work on Eldar.

The head is still being problematic :( i am sure you all know how it is, you try a gazzillion times till you get something you are happy with, i just havent reached that point yet.

The scenic setting i had in my mind was possibly on a half destroyed balcony onboard a Eldar craftworld, possibly Iyanden during the Tyranid incursion. The right arm would be holding a glowing \'rune\' which ultimately would offer me some subtle OSL opportunities, which i think would work well with some of the NMM i plan for the spear.

I liked the idea of trying to convey the farseer\'s attmept to forsee the next best course of action to save his home.

Although some other users have suggested a possible \'floating\' farseer given the robes which is something i may pursue.

Cheers for the feedback. I\'m glad you mentioned using different sculpting material actually as I am currently looking at expanding the sorts of putty I use so I have the right thing for the right job. At the moment I only use Green Stuff because it is what I know.

It\'s probably been done before, but if someone would be so kind as to clear up what\'s good for what or point me in the right direction it would be great. Right now I\'m thinking of getting some Super Sculpey to have a go with but I\'m just unsure. I really need to know the best stuff to use on larger scale (54mm and up) models.

Ooh, best place to get it in the UK would be handy too. I\'ll certainly be getting some of those big Green Stuff sticks, they are way cheaper than GWs.

For greenstuff I use Heresy.

They also have brownstuff which is good for sharper edges like mechanical bits. Greenstuff is better for organic things like flesh.

I think the higher up the scale you go the more likely people are to use polymer clays. Most likely the working time makes it better.
I think 54mm is probably a grey area where all are used equally.

Sorry I haven\'t been posting lately but I\'m just getting cought up on some commission stuff, so I can finally get back to my own things. I will try to post more regular updates for these as they progress. I leveled up my sculpt-fu at ReaperCon and have started some new things.
