Beaten me to it
I have a version of this myself, but made with cheap plyboard, tacks and PVA, and an A4 sheet of thin foam.

It's a lot tougher than this, and you can put larger things on it, like a Rhino.

I won't steal your thunder and add my version though Nice idea

DaN - I would love to see your larger version of this. My motivation for building some so small was one of convenience. It takes up little room, and allows me to take WIP pictures throughout the process without leaving my work station. My motivation goes down exponentially when I need to get off my butt to do something.
