Good idea, but you can save money by using bits of cut-off metal sprue instead og buying BBs. Reaper paints actually employ this idea and include a little metal skull in each pot of paint to act as an agitator. Cool idea:)

Great Idea... I have to try this!

Get a pic of your bb gun pellets and some nice stirred paint and people will probalby like this article more... just expect more when you click on the link, though the info is great.

Shortest article ever. Helpful, but perhaps would have been better as a Forum post. As an addendum - DO NOT use steel ball bearings, even "stainless" as they will rust and taint your paint. I lost a few pots (only the Space Marine Paint Set, no great loss) that way back in the day.

Apologies to everyone, I now realise that I should have posted this as a Forum article. Thanks to everyone who replied and pointed this out. My excuse:- I'm new to this :)

BB's will not work with dropper dispensers (Vallejo, etc.) but pellets are odd shaped and won't stop up the dropper.

Nice tip, been wanting to do this for quite some time. i'd been thinking about lead beads, like you'd use on a fishing line..... Nice and heavy, all sorts of assorted sizes, cheap and lead doesn't rust.....
