Asian Skintones

Does anyone have any ideas of colors to get an Asian skintone? The closest I\'ve seen (on Jenova\'s site, for Egyptian skin) is a base of Snakebite Leather, shaded with Scorched Brown and Highlighted with a Snakebite/Bleached Bone mix. This ends up looking a little darker than what I\'d like though... and too brown I think. Any better ideas? I\'m looking for kind of a pale Japanese look for my VASA Archangels.

Thanks,
Jeff

I think a mix of yellow brown with a bit of medum brown and just keep adding a yellowish beige ought to do it. I\'m naming these as I see them as I use Vallejo paint.

I think the best way to gat a skin tone is find a photo online and either zoom in as much as possible or use the eyedropper tool in Photoshop to select the color so you can see the progression of colors.

many types of asian tones...

Raptoriffic, there are many races to the asian community. Eg. Chinese, Malay, Indians (northern and southern), Japanese, Korean, Sikks (oh oh...did i spell that correctly?) and many many more.

Why not search through the web for some asian pictures and make your gauge from there?

Skin tones....

\'Playboy\' has previously been recommended on this site as a valuable source of inspiration for skintones!

It\'s the only homework I have ever really enjoyed:bouncy:

I use a method that was mentioned over at the mini-painting list on yahoo groups.

  1. Thin Vallejo English Uniform to about 1:4 parts paint:water. Wash over entire flesh area.
  2. Thin Vallejo Medium Fleshtone to 1:3, go over most areas of flesh, leaving deepest recesses untouched.
  3. Add a little Vallejo Basic Skin Tone to #2, thin to about same consistency, and hilight.

Of course, you can get more dramatic effects by using more layers.

I don\'t have any pics of this at the moment, but I did some similar coloring on my Priestess of Isis
