Assembling the Bloodthirster

Hi everyone, I\'m thinking of buying the Chaos Bloodthirster but I have a few questions:

Is pinning required? ( Looking at those metal wings/swords yes )

Do all the parts fit (near) perfectly?

Is re-sculpting required for some parts?

How long did it approxemately (sp?) took you to assemble?

Was it hard to assemble?

are you that worried?

Its big - it WILL need to be pinned. It WILL need something to fill cracks in the joints. It WILL have mold lines that need to be filed. Dats all!

Well you have to challenge yourself or you\'ll never progress! :) I don\'t think you\'ll find it too difficult. It shouldn\'t take you too long either.. not like the Forge World Bloodthirster.

It will probably have some gaps, but this is a very good article on how to fill them.

If you feel its to much of a challenge i\'d say wait, you can always wait. Try something monstrous that is smaller and requires pinning... I know I have a Personal Signature Minotaur I havn\'t even thought about starting because I know it will require me to fill in spaces and because I don\'t believe my painting skills are ready for a nice piece like that...

Just you know... keep working ^..~

I disagree, I reckon just go for it, just dont attack it too hard with anything thats likely to make it go to pieces, like a high speed dremel.

ive built a bloodthirster and lord of change and i didn\'t need it pinning i just needed a lot patience but you will need something to fill the gap ( id suggest green stuff cos its the only one ive ever used ) There not too bigger challenge top paint just work out what paints your gunna use and take it slow

If you have access to Milliput, try that for the gaps. It cures really hard and sandable, and holds the joints better than GS, which can flex a little after it cures. For best results, I mix the two.

And to echo what\'s already been said: You won\'t get any better if you don\'t challenge yourself :)

Just remember to keep your sculpting tools lubricated with water, veg. oil, vaseline, etc. To keep them from sticking to the putty.

Plus, you got everyone here to offer tips, and advice while you\'re working on it! So post pics, and don\'t be afraid to ask for help!
