At last a finished mini or two

After a serious belt of painters block, I\'ve finally finished a few mini\'s. For me an achievment in itself. Not my best, but I have tried a new technique (to me) or two on these. All constructive critisism welcome as I need all the help I can get.

Well, good solid paint jobs for all of them.

The Maticore looks cool, although being big model it\'s hard to present it here effectively. Colour choice is good,

Dark Elf; NMM looks ok, but needs more blending..........but you are at least posting pics big enough to see this! :D so take my hat off to you for that. I feel that the figures would benefit from some \"seperation\" with a darker lining between them - red + black maybe.

The Broodlord is really nice; good colour again.

All in all; good solid paintwork!!!

Agree with ORB....
It\'s good to see someone posting minis close up so you can really see the nitty gritty...
Highlights blended smoother and maybe some very light grazes o tie said highlights together would help..
Overall like them though..
Broodlord my favourite....

Thanks For your comments, I dont mean to be ignorant, is a glaze watered down paint like a wash?

I like the manticore as well as the broodlord, but they are such crap photo\'s that you can\'t see the details. The dark elf was just a quick job, but I still like her.

You know Mr. Krom, I struggle with that glaze vs. wash thing too...

I think the vital difference is that a wash is meant to flow into the cracks and crevasses and often used to darken, where it seems the glaze is meant to ride atop the color and add some depth and possibly brighten it...

Please someone correct me if\'n I\'m wrong.

like the manticore, lovely pallette of colours (especially the wings) the broodlord is very cool and my fave of the 3.

Glad you asked about glazes as I don\'t have a clue either!

Well done... nice to see Dark Elves done in a different color scheme.

What is the rock that the manticore is on made of? (I will slap my forehead if you say \"rock\")

Thanks all for your kind comments, the rock I made out of standard milliput, I was pleased with the result as its the first time I\'ve really tried to do a more elaborated base.
The dark elf was a quicky paint job, but I think the colours, suited it. Cheers all:D

Supervike got it right! A glaze is spread out over the underlying paint and a wash goes into the crevices. The difference is mostly in the way it\'s applied, allthough you can tamper some with the paints to make them suit your purpose better as well. Some people like to add glaze medium when doing glazes, but I think it\'s pretty unnecessary. It works just as well with plain water, IMO.

Oh, and I did the vote thingy. I agree with Orb\'s comments, also. :)

I sort of use th glazes now, but I\'m just learning to get the hang of it.
