At least I have answers now

Hey guys - I\'ve been quiet lately. I\'ve been really frustrated with my inability to paint. I thought my hands shaking was because I was out of practice. But instead of getting better, it was getting worse.

Turns out, there\'s a very good reason for it. I have hyperthyroidsim. My body is throwing itself into overdrive and the muscle shakes and hand trembling is part of it.

So, I\'m on meds to see if they will help. Only been on \'em two days but I sure hope they work.

I WANNA PAINT DAMMIT! :cussing:

Cheers,
Kat

Even though it\'s a bummer to know you have such a condition it\'s always better to know for sure, so you can take proper action.

Hope things will work out, so you can paint again! :)

Best wishes that the meds work to control the hand tremors! It sucks not being able to paint because of something like this, went through something similar when I had carpal-tunnel syndrome.

If you do find you can\'t control a brush finely enough though, maybe think about taking up painting (as in on canvas) where you can be a lot free-er with the paint?

Shaking works fine, if you are Jackson Pollack...

not so much for us mini painters!

Hope you get it straightened out!

Best wishes to you.

Thanks guys! Painting is a huge stress reliever for me, so I really want to get back to it.

Einion - I thought about changing but canvas just doesn\'t appeal to me like mini painting does. I\'ve been working on my model horses - the shaking doesn\'t interfere with applying pigments and what not. But eventually I have to do fine detail on those too - eyes, mane and tail, etc. So I have a bunch of resins only half finished. lol

I\'ve always had a bit of the shakes, so if I can just reduce it, I think I can continue to work. Where there\'s a will, there\'s a way. ;)

Thanks again!

Cheers,
Kat
