I thought it was about time I added a WIP thread here too.

I'll do a quick catch up on the project I'm currently working on to get things kicked off.

Wood and barrel strapping started!

Nicely progressing along. Next step weather the strappings.

Bit more done. I still have to add a bit of depth the rust and add a shadow most likely around the barrel under the strappings, but for no that's it. Onto John.

Got the face started. Concentrated on the eyes tonight. They look so much neater than this in real life. Happy as I got them to look right at you.
Think it needs a little more red in the corners, make it a bit stronger.

Face done.....I think. Why can't I be happy with something and just leave alone?!

OK, couldn't help myself. I smoothed the blends a little added stubble and shading and a little red to the lips and ears..NOW it done!

Shirts done. Hmm you can't see the brown staining and shades in the pic. Well at least it frames his face a bit. Progress is progress!
Tie/scarf/cravat whatever it is, is done. I matched ion the hat band for a little continuity although I want to add some free hand to the hat band, and cut in the line around the hat more sharply

Bit of freehand!

This is looking really nice. I'm glad you reworked his chin as the cleft just didn't look right at all. The freehand is nice and understated and adds some real class. Looking forward to seeing the finished piece.

Just a quick update, to prove things are still moving on this. all I can say is it took me 14 bloody coats to get a solid red and I have now decided that the Andrea paints aren't much cop over black! Also tightened up a few bits here and there! Sorry for the slight blur.

Jacket is now done for the moment.

Jacket looks better from the back!

John is finished. Redid the lense, and shadowed the face a bit more, also added lines on his bottom eyelids, which are part of the sculpt on the large one, but cant be seen on the this small version, and finished off the base too.

Got the Plinth and plaque too, trying to bend the plaque to the curvature of the plinth!

At last after having to re magic sculpt it and undercoat it, I'm able to restart Macaw after the mishap.

Spent the evening, looking at loads of Macaw faces to try and get the markings correct. Also tried to paint his green head crest as feathers, as it was smooth. Last update now until its finished as time is ticking away!
