Well, I\'ve been banished again to the land of Hampshire. <sigh>

Many thanks to Kevin, Scott, and Dawn for hosting me in various capacities. So lovely to see you folks again. Miss you already.

And great to see all the other folks and painters, even Flynn and Darth Foley, I suppose... bastages...

Anyhow... Gratz to all the winners. Super work. You\'re all inspirations. Perhaps next year I\'ll put a model or two up against you.... for what it\'s worth.

Thanks again, all. Here\'s to next year. Or sooner.

Best, -Darin.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say congratulations to all the winners, and I hope everyone made it home safe and sound. I had a great time getting to meet everyone, some again and some for the first time. Rodnik, it was my pleasure to stop and chat with you guys. If you were rambling I didn\'t notice. That glazed look in my eyes was probably just from lack of sleep.

I\'m working on getting some pics of my entries up, hopefully tomorrow. I\'ll post a link. Thanks,
Greg

Yes, I ended up dumping like another 100 hours into it. Basically I did the things I wanted to do for the SSC but did not have the time, like the shield and banner. With the SSC bits ban off I added the snotling and some other misc to make the banner. Now he is complete :)

Hi Kev, I used Envirotex Lite Pour-On High Gloss Finish. Of all the resins I have used this is the best. You just mix the resin & hardner 50/50 so it is really hard to mess up. I bought it at Michaels craft store.

Cool, I\'ve used that stuff a lot working at GW making scenery for the shop :) It is really easy to work with, just try to pop the little bubbles ASAP before it cures. Pretty standard procedure for resin water effects.

As my friend (and now manager) Ward found out, adding more hardener doesn\'t make the resin \"extra hard\" it just makes the drawer where you store the scenery \"extra sticky\" for about the next 3 years or so lol

Anyway did you just pour the resin with a card dam built up around the base or something? I\'m always curious about how people do that part of it.

Hi Jerico, It was nothing fancy, just a plasticard box. I used green stuff to hold it all together and stop any leaks.

On another note, I found it to be very interesting that the GW master paint brush set is actually the Winsor & Newton Series 7 set.

Yeah and as Matty said at twice the price.. I know the GW one comes with the little Tin cup/shellcaseing and the towle with the eagle logo but is that worth all that extra money. Plus you can probably buy all three brushes seperate from Dick Blick here in the USA for $35.00 total.

Just wanted to say thanks to Kevin (rodnik) and Marie for co-sponsoring the cookout after GD Atlanta, and thanks to everyone that came by for the cookout. We really enjoyed hanging out with everyone and getting to sit around and shoot the breeze and look at everyone\'s GD entries up close and personal.

Look forward to seeing you all next year.

Cheers, Grumb

I\'m not quite sure how to respond to that comment....silence seems like the best option....

Duende; No, there wasn\'t a lot of picture taking done this year. There was much eating, drinking and being roudy, but not a lot of pictures. Sorry we were all to busy stuffing our faces ... :drunk:
