Atlanta Runner-up pics --- AArgh! more bad pics!

Steve, if you read this, it\'s nothing personal. I know you work hard.

But I just looked at the pics of the Atlanta runner-ups and they are so close up it makes them look like little kids painted most of them. There is no way anyone\'s models taken like this could look good.

The Warhammer single pics are the ones that bother me the most. I remember looking at these and they were good models. Maybe not winning caliber, but not this bad.

It\'s very depressing to work so hard on something and have it show up this bad on a public site. I know Steve is working hard to add more to the coverage, but it has to be presented better than this.

They definately got a little close on the photos. I can\'t say that I\'m entirely displeased with how mine held up under the superclose scrutiny. That is to say, I expected it would look worse...:p

My camera can focus closer to a model than the average human eye, generally. :) We don\'t usually post close-ups that large in White Dwarf, because seeing them super-close like that can be pretty shocking!

I dunno - depends whether the photos portray an accurate representation of the paint-job :D

Hmmm. I doubt it Peter.

That one White Dwarf guy looks terrible for a runner up. Of course, it probably isn\'t but the pic sure makes it look that way.

Mine just makes me go \'Ok, I may think I\'m good, but I could improve this and this and...\'

Plus, I just think it\'s cool having pics of my mini on the net, no matter how brutally honest they may be.

:D

Hi Glyn!

I know what you mean, but surely there is only so far a photo can go to make a difference to where you actually put the paint... its a given that a photo can alter the colour, contrast and sharpness, but as for making a model look untidy?

Guess not... I popped it into Paint shop... but then I don\'t know why many blends seem to disappear then.

I was fairly happy with the way the photos of my 2 models came out, but then maybe I\'m just happy to have my name on the site ;)
