Attempting NMM

I\'ve really want to give NMM a go but i\'m not sure which colours to use. I\'ve read a few posts on the subject but I use Citadel acrylics and have never seen a colour list for this range. Any help would be very useful.

not the best around in nmm...anyway here my palette.
For gold nmm:
Base snackebite leather
snakebite leather mixed with bronzed flesh with more bronzed flesh every time
pure bronzed flesh
bronzed flesh + bubonic brown with more bubonic brown every time
bubonic brown + bleached bone with more bleached bone every time

Optional method for a more yellow result:
base snakebite leather
snakebite leather +sunburst yellow with more sunburst yellow every time

For iron nmm:
base with chaos black (a lot)+ codex grey with more codex grey every time
pure codex grey
codex grey + fortress grey with more fortress grey every time
pure fortress grey
fortress grey +skull white with more skull white every time (put final pure skull white on all the edges )

Bronze/copper:
base scorched brown
terracotta
terracotta+ bestial brown with more bestial brown every time
pure bestial brown

There are only Gw colors.

Hi.
At a very basic level gold is brown,yellow,white.Silver is dark grey,grey,white.No matter what paint.And you can use others if you wish.I have heard of skintones being used.

A pretty cool colour for doing blue silver nmm is GW\'s Shadow Grey. I\'ve used it on this model.

Metallics reflect their surroundings, so a great many different colours can be introduced to give different effects. You see Rackham painters and people like Cyril (ex Rackham...) using dark green as a base colour or dark tone on steel colours. Very dark purples are useful on gold for example. The secret is to get the highlights as accurate as possible. I would try to get photos of as many metallic objects as possible to see how they catch reflections. On very shiny surfaces, your final highlights will always be white. Check out the tutorials in the Articles section. There is some superb stuff there. HTH

I just done my first NMM-ish painting. OOOO!!!:wow: I feel all grown up!

Is was gold_ Scorched brown, Vermin fur, bleached bone (mixing as I go:idea: ).

And I am happy with the results, sorry no pictures (just got new computer & want photoshop).

Thanks for the help I guess I better give it a go, I think it\'ll probaly be best to try on something small rather than a whole suit of armour.
