Hi there,

a one day paintjob for a friend... also i will do a tutorial on this guy, which will be used for gaming over at the Avatars of War Forum... keep an eye out...

Really had my fun with this alternative colour scheme... Painted for the second time and always a pleasure to do so... Picture is a bit too bright, mostly the pigments don\'t have such an intensity in natural... guess this might be from the daylight lamps... ah, i hate photos

nice model there. i\'m a traditionalist and prefer orcs to be green, but he does look ok like that! well done

Well got you there Tim
....GW started the trend for Orcs (Orks) to be green, prior to that JRR described them as Black, D&D has them as various shades of Brown through to Green.

alright thene, traditionalist may not have been the right word. stuck in my ways would be better. having said that, browns and blacks i can deal with, as long as they are earthy, muted tones

Orcs should be green i know, that is why i have decided to excuse in the start.

But there are too many great different colours in this world to leave an orc just green... for me, myself and I

Didn\'t he describe them as various shades of black, brown and grey? With the uruks being darker than the goblinoids?

yep, his referance notes had the uruk hai and half orcs as darker skinned (think numidian) with the orcs as shades of lighter brown/grey (think african nations and parts of the med for tones)
