Hola,

http://coolminiornot.com/256660

DRIVE ME CLOSER!! First go at a LR, don't usually do marines and not usually anything bigger than a rhino/russ, had a go at a small freehand, tried weathering and using various things on my desk including the wifes makeup brush  very experimental model overall, pleased with the finish on this and plan on doing a ton more tanks in the near future to get better and learn more techniques.

C&C very welcome, Cheers :waving:

Overall a nice effect. Clean lines and solid colours. The freehand looks nice, it's always good to push the freehand work to get better at it and add interest to otherwise flat panels.
Crits that spring to mind :-
Whilst the red is good and solid it would benfit from some highlighting to bring out the edges.
The weathering around the tracks is a bit indistinct - doesn't really come across as either mud or dust. It looks like you have applied a wash of light brown paint to the areas and left it at that. For either effect some fine specks would add to the look. With a mud feel more splodges of a slightly darker shade closer to the tracks would help give the impression that nearest the tracks it is still wet but further up the panels it has dried off a bit.
The scratches are a bit lost in the area. I am not a great fan of adding scratches all over the model. Instead I prefer adding chips to the edges that are most likely to be hit, so concentrating around the front of the vehicle and around places where edges are gong to be moving against each other such as around the doors.

Keep up the good work and keep experimenting

The red color is solid, which is an achievement in itself if you painted with a brush. I second the edge highlighting and chipping. If you go for a clean look you'll need to do those separately, if you go for a heavy chipping you can start by sponging your highlight color mostly on the edges, this will highlight them as well as simulate chipping there or in other areas.

The freehand looks good, but it is a bit difficult to tell without close-up shots. Keep it up and keep practicing!

Thanks for the reply. I attempted to get a closeup of the freehand, severly struggled getting a good shot sadly, I'll try again today and see if I can get one up.

Cheers.

Really like the guns and the red is solid. The weathering lacks, in my humble opinion. I looks just like a wash of a brownish color. I think it needs a bit more texture. But regardless, it's a very good looking model you've got there!
